Review summary

Loved the small ship experience and this itinerary!

Embarkation

Wish there was better signage or communication that you need to drop bags off before getting in line.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Really enjoyed Summer Palace, Lotus Garden (main dining) and Moderno (specialty dining). Food in all of those locations was great! Not a fan of Teppenyaki (specialty dining). Steak was chewy, shrimp was very good. Just be aware of the noise level. Teppenyaki is a small room with four competing chefs doing their show. The show is good, but with four at the same time, it was a challenge four our family.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The two main shows (Pure Variety and Legends) are really good. The other musicians scattered around the ship were decent and played a nice variety of music.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Everyone we encountered was outstanding!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
This was our first smaller ship experience with NCL. We have done the Joy, Escape, and Getaway prior to this cruise on the Pearl. We loved the Pearl. This smaller ship has more sun deck space and loungers than the bigger ships. The recent updates in the cabins are very nice. The ship is very clean and we always saw someone cleaning in the common areas.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Perfect cabin for our family of four with two teenage daughters (18 & 16). Great space and well appointed.

Ship tip

The mid-ship elevators threw us off the first few days. This ship as a different layout than the larger ships we've been on. We like the layout. If it's your first time, get the layout down early :)

Ports of call

Boston, Massachusetts

5 out of 5
We love Boston. It's an easy city to get around and explore. We picked a hotel within walking distance to the port.

Royal Naval Dockyard, West End, Bermuda

5 out of 5
NCL ferry to get to St. George's was very nice. Easy option to get to the Crystal Caves. Highly recommend Restless Native for a private catamaran on Lil' Restless. This was the highlight of our time in Bermuda! Getting to Horseshoe Bay is very easy from the port. Shuttle buses are always available.

Bar Harbor, Maine

5 out of 5
Bar Harbor is a great little town. There are a ton of shops to explore and dining options. We rented a GEM electric vehicle to explore Acadia. This was a great way to explore Acadia and Bar Harbor. https://www.acadiagem.com/

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Since we went through immigration in Bar Harbor, disembarkation in Boston was a breeze. This was the quickest disembarkation experience we've ever had.
