Review summary

Wouldn't sail the pearl again. Our first time sailing norwegian we may give it another shot on a different ship. Very little to do and wouldn't probably sail again in November. Staff very little personalities and at times we didn't feel like we were on vacation. First time I felt like staff didn't want to appease us while away. Extremely hard working, very clean however the lack of joy and happiness seriously lacked. This cruise definitely was 80% seniors. We wish we were able to see the overall age grouping of who booked.

Onboard Activities

Alot of activities geared towards seniors. Found wandering in afternoons bored with lack of things going on

Entertainment

Shows great. Overall music ok when they had it. General music throughout the day and around the ship lacked and cheerful upbeat staff seriously lacked. Not alot of personality from the staff at all.

Service and Staff

First cruise with norwegian and definitely contemplating another. Very dry sense of humors. Room steward we seen maybe once

Ship Quality

1 out of 5
Not a fan of the design at all found it very confusing to get around. Extremely well maintained and clean though.

Cabin / Stateroom

2 out of 5
Once we paid extra and were able to separate rooms much more accommodating for us. Originally had the 4 of us as a family in a room with 3 beds and a cot. Wasn't going to work out at all. Had to pay extra to get a room across the hall

Ship tip

Pay attention to all the hidden fees. Room charges are absolutely ridiculous. Charging per person for a cleaning fee is absolutely unheard of for the same Sq footage. $16 & more per person for cleaning of the room daily isn't feasible at all. Not being able to utilize your debit card whenever is an absolute pain as well. They were encouraging credit card. The way they charge your debit card causes alot of unnecessary and avoidable issues while on vacation

Give NCL another try! I was on this trip in June and it was my favorite cruise to date. But then again the crowd was much more mixed in ages and Bermuda was in full swing!

Was this your first cruise? As said previously, gratuities are shared through out the ship.

Sorry this cruise didn’t meet your expectations.

The daily service charge is for alot more than cleaning rooms, it goes to the people behind the scenes too. They all work so hard. Did you even engage in any of them? Maybe cruising is not for you.
