The ship and staff were wonderful. It was more than we expected (our first cruise since 2019 on the Escape). I was disappointed in how people treated some of the staff members (yes, you telling off two people at the water station when filling your water bottle without using the glass, as requested!!) I would definitely do this ship/itinerary again.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Flawless. First time out of Boston and the process was easy.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Main dining room was good, expect a longer wait than usual. Waitstaff was hopping and doing the best they could and we had no plans for the night and didn’t care. Specialty restaurants were great. Buffets were good, no complaints. Loved the outdoor cafe!
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Pools were crowded but they always are on every cruise I have been on! Fitness centers had plenty of equipment and was very clean.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Music throughout the ship was great, at times too loud tho. DJ’s were great and keep the music flowing on the pool deck and the shows were entertaining. Legends was great!!
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Mary Grace and the Bartender (I never caught his name) from Maltings were awesome! All of the staff were warm and welcoming and friendly. Nico was our maitre d at two restaurants and he was the best!
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Very clean! Layout was easy and convenient.
Cabin / Stateroom

Very clean, comfortable and the balcony was large. Could have used more storage in bathroom but we made do. Bed was very comfy.
Ship tip
Enjoy the smaller ship! Been on the big ships and yes, they offer more. But the smaller gem class was more than i expected.
Quaint and more than I expected. ALTHOUGH, the locals were rude. One actually yelled at a group of people “go back to where you came from”. I know they must be frustrated with the crowds, etc., but we “tourists” are helping the economy. I was surprised by how rude some of them were.
Easy! We had our luggage taken the night before and when our group color was called,we waited a short time in line to get into the terminal and grabbed our bags. One of the easiest embarkations I have ever had.
I'm from Maine. I apologize for the rudeness of the people in Bar Harbor, although I cannot say I'm surprised. Bar Harbor is a very small town of only 5,000 people and the docking of cruise ships is pretty unpopular among the residents. Just to put it in perspective, if the ship with 4,000 people docks there, it is nearly doubling the town's population while the ship is in port. While we appreciate the tourist dollars, a lot of small towns in Maine are completely overrun with tourists to the point where you can't get anywhere or do anything in the summer. It can be very frustrating. However, that is no excuse to be rude to people just trying to enjoy their vacations. Sorry from a local and I hope you were able to at least enjoy Bar Harbor a little bit.
