Review summary

Food and drink were great Internet no good for VPN - good for everything else, if you are willing to pay. We paid about $800 for premium internet for 5 people, because the "free" was garbage. Shows were horrible. Absolute crap. Maybe 1 good one on the entire 1 week cruise. customer service at the front desk was not great. Going to Bar Harbor on a cruise that was supposed to go only to Bermuda when we booked it felt like a bait and switch. Nobody from NCL would give us the reason for the itinerary change.

Embarkation

3 out of 5
Lines long, understaffed at check-in. Waited in-line outside for about an hour. Had done all the COVID requirements well in advance, but they did not have it in their system, so we had to go into emails and find everything for five people on the spot.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Food and drink were great. No complaints. top shelf was included in drink package . . grey goose, bombay saphire, a few very respectible bourbons . . .

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
activities very limited. times were limited. They shut down activities like bowling and shuffleboard early, for no reason.

Entertainment

1 out of 5
subpar. This was my 10th cruise, and the entertainment was the worst, without question

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
staff was respectable. Internet Cafe Manager was great, but she was the only one that could assist with any IT issue, and she was out sick for 2 days whcih was a problem for many passengers

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
very clean. layout was fine.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Very clean, but not the same high level turn down, with a chocolate or the animal towels like there once was.

Ship tip

Do not expect strong enough bandwidth to access VPN for work purposes

Ports of call

Royal Naval Dockyard, West End, Bermuda

3 out of 5
There is a small beach and snorkel/boat/waverunner rental area, a few limited shops, but not much else in walking distance. This area is basically serving cruisers and not much else going on. would rather dock in the city, not the wrong side of the island.

Bar Harbor, Maine

1 out of 5
It was the off season. Very little was open. It was 40's and windy. It was too cold. It was not right that NCL did not give us notice until a few says before the cruise that we are going to Maine. We wanted to go south, and wound up north of boston . . . Not right at all. Many, many angry New Englanders on the ship, having no desire to go to Maine.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
easy, the way it should be

People need to stop commenting on the the fact that there was no exchange of a sea day. We were supposed to stay in Bermuda over night on the last day instead we had to leave a day earlier than what was posted in the original itinerary. We also were not notified of the change until 2 weeks prior to our sailing.

I will say it again the Bar Harbor stop was included in exchange for a sea day as the ship would just circle off shore of Boston. Bermuda is always cool in April and always will be it is off season and that's why rates are cheaper. Notification of the itinerary change was made months ago.
