Review summary

Loved the Panama Canal!  Fascinating!  We stayed on board and there were frequent announcements with historic and technical details of the canal.  Traveled in Oct/Nov, which was rainier than I had anticipated  Dry season starts in December in that part of the Caribbean.

We love the balcony so we can see port activities. We had a great view of the pilot boat dropping off and picking up crew. Left side slightly aft.) For Panama transit that meant over 20 personnel who were brought on board. To see most ports, though, the right side would be better.

Ship tip

Enjoyed the dance lessons.

Dry season starts in December. we were there in rainy season so did not go on the planned mountain hike.

Panama Canal (Cruise Into Canal)

Very good information given during the transit via speaker on board. Worth getting up at 4:15 to see the lights of ships as we pass the line-up of waiting vessels and the canal come into view. (Ships can book time slots a year in advance, which cruise ships do but freighters do not.)

Right side = Port side. Left side = Starboard side.

Glad that the rain did not affect your fun.  Would love to do the Panama Canal.
