Review summary

I sailed on the Majestry 2 years ago and had a wonderful experience but this time the ship was in poor condition. In our group of 50, we had 2 flooding problems requiring change of cabins twice, 5 backed up toilets thoughout the cruise and yellow water or no hot water for 10 cabins. 1 cabin didn't have AC for the entire trip and 2 rooms had only one bed for 2 single people. The ship looked and is old. It needs to be replaced before I would ever consider using NCL again.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
The food was good but the buffet selection wasn't as good as in years past. The "free style dining" experience was poor. The wait to get into the dining room was ususally 30 minutes on a good time and a lot ,onger on bad times..this wasn't just a problem for dinner but also breakfast, whether at port or sea. They used to have many people seating you but this time the hostess (very nice) would put you with someone that would seat you but since the handoff was only to one person and the length between the next couple or group taken was 2-5 minutes-the line moved very, very slowly. The wait staff were nice, not as efficient in the past but maybe because it was the first cruise of the season from Boston.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Kids club staff were great, the majority of the staff were great. The shows were the same for previouse years though-but still enjoyable. The dancers did a great job with a very rough sea.

Children's Programs

Excellent

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The staff were very nice but could not always answer the question or resolve the problem which led to delays.

Ship Quality

1 out of 5
As mentioned above-there was constantly problems with many cabins and the physical plant of the ship. If it was occassional it would be one thing but it was the entire crusie and not an uncommon issue among other travelers on the ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

1 out of 5
Stateroom was good size and clean. The cabin steward was very nice and efficient. The lack of hot water, the yellow water and the toilet not working all the time were problems throughout the trip for me and several people with our group.

Ports of call

St. George's, Bermuda

5 out of 5
Beautiful place, very clean and welcoming. I didn't like that you had to get yourself to most of the excursions and then since they didn't drop you off at the dock, most of the time, you had to finds transportation back again. Cabs were expensive.
Don't Miss: Horseshoe bay

Pros: Leaving out of Boston

Cons: 4.5 hrs delay getting on day 1 and 3.5 hr delay getting off last day (inefficiencies abounded) and ship was very old-many plumbing and flooding problems in our group of 50
