Embarkation

Not too bad went pretty smoothly. Elevators were always packed very hard to get on when you have a disability and you have a mobilized scooter trying to get on an elevator that’s packed is very hard. They should have a special elevator, just for disability people.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Cagney‘s first night had a surf and turf. The filet mignon was very good. The lobster not so much they overcooked it and it was chewy. the buffet was hit or miss hamburgers were cold. Macaroni salad was very good. Mac & cheese was good if you had a fresh omelette very good coffee someday good someday bad fresh cut meat was good when it was hot chocolate milk really didn’t like it. Orange juice was good. Muffins were good. Bagels were good. It would’ve been nice if they had a bit more of a variety in the buffet instead of the same stuff every day.

Room Service

1 out of 5

I was not pleased with the room service. I ordered tuna fish on rye. Tuna fish was very good. The rye bread was hard as could be. The personalized pizza came to me burnt. I was able to eat the cheese, but not the whole pizza

Only went up to the H2O for the 80s dance party was very nice and very crowded. However, there was children up there and they shouldn’t have been. There was babies and teenagers and they shouldn’t have been there.

Casino

The smoking section of the bar was nice. However, none of the tables were ever open. Only the slot machines and there was never anybody there to help if you needed it.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Most of the staff were very helpful. I have a disability so I was on a scooter, so yes, I was helped a lot our room. Stewart was Jacob. Very nice gentleman always there to help us at the service center. The people there were great helped when needed. the Wi-Fi guy or guys were very helpful when I had problems with my phone, and on the last day before leaving the ship so second to the last day, I should say a lady helped me with the tags for the disembarking day because I had no idea about those tags. The day we got off the ship and back in New York the gentleman that took me in the wheelchair was very nice and very polite.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship is beautiful. It’s nicely laid out. It was very clean and very well maintained my only issue while I had a couple of issues one was a smoking area. I don’t think it should be boxed in like that. There’s no air getting in there for all the people that are standing in there, think they need to put it up on the 17th floor 16th floor whatever and make it open area. The elevators were very crowded. I think they need one elevator or even two elevators for handicapped people that would make a big difference for the people that need it like that.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
The cabin was very nice very clean however, I wish I would’ve known more before I booked that room with two other people two of my friends. One is also disabled plus myself we had two scooters neither one of them could fit in the room when you had three people adults, there are in a balcony room it can get pretty tight. Bathroom wasn’t too bad. It was large enough would’ve been nice if they would’ve had more towels and washcloths when you know there’s gonna be more than one or two people in a room.

Ship tip

If your skin is sensitive, make sure you bring your own sheets and own pillowcases. If you can bring a blanket, that’s good too. If you don’t mind a lot of salt water you’ll be fine with the swimming pool in the adult section. I broke out in hives so I don’t know if it was from the saltwater in the swimming pool or the detergent that they use in the laundry to wash their towels and sheets and pillowcases and blankets.

Ports of call

New York, New York

5 out of 5
I’ve been in New York many times so I didn’t need to see New York this time but I’m sure there is much there to see if somebody’s going to New York to get on the ship so enjoy it

Royal Naval Dockyard, West End, Bermuda

5 out of 5
I have no words to say about Mara other than a beautiful beautiful place to visit and I would love to go back there again

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Disembarking was pretty much easy. It didn’t take very long however, when you get outside, especially if you’re being wheeled out on a wheelchair, you go out the door and you’re with where all the buses come to pick people up you have to go up to the second floor to meet people that are picking you up whether it’s friend or friends or family they did not tell me that the gentleman and the staff member that took me out the front exit. Let me off and I had to get on an elevator by myself with a Porter with my luggage walking problems, the problems and it was very hard for me to walk and like I said the gentleman that wheeled me out should’ve welded me up to the top floor, but did not so that was an issue with me
