Would not recommend the Norwegian Joy at all. Did not have really lot of fun.
Embarkation
2 out of 5
The lines were very long, they brought us the wrong keycard, the embarkation process was slow and not organized well.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
The food and drinks were very delightful. The buffet (Garden Cafe) had multiple choices and there was always something new to try each day.
Le Bistro French Restaurant
1 out of 5
Horrible service. We were there for three hours. Took us one hour to get our appetizers, and another two hours to get the entree. Then came desert. I’m allergic to peanuts but for some reason, every desert that they gave me had some kind of peanut crum around it. So I order a ice cream as my final desert, and as usual it had peanut crumbles. So my children and I got up and left. Worst restaurant service of my life and on the ship.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
Many of the activities were closed for the first few days. And they got really boring. Real fast.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
The shows were very well done. I loved Footloose, the Magic Show and Elements
Children's Programs
Did not go to a children program
Service and Staff
2 out of 5
The staff was kind and sweet and understanding. However, it was the service that did it for me. There were hardly ever water refills at meals, one of my meals came with the wrong food, there were long waits after being seated. Ex. When I was at La Bistro’s French Restaurant, our reservation was at 8:15 PM, we didn’t get out until 11 PM. The people that sat next to us got up and left.
Staff was kind but the rules that were made were never implemented. For example, smoking is prohibited in your stateroom and on your balcony. However, there were someone doing it next to us and the staff never really cared.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
It was pretty clean. The room service was not the best.
The worst private island. It was really boring. Zip lines were closed, the lifeguard at the beach would keep yelling at you if you went like an centimeter in the water.
Well what you may not have done is your research to find out what kind of things were going to be offered on the ship. And just because you may not have had fun on the Norwegian Joy other people happen enjoying the ship experience. Next time maybe you need to find out what is going on on the ship, what the ship has to offer for you. What kind of activities does the ship have, what kind of shows, see all of this will help you better make a selection of a cruise line or a cruise ship that you will enjoy.
