Review summary

It was not obvious when we booked that this would be a "Nickelodeon at Sea" cruise. Over 1200 children were on board to meet SpongeBob, Dora and company. Half of the evenings the entertainment was strictly for kids. We could not find a quiet place on board and often retreated to our balcony for some peace. Even that was short lived as a child in the next cabin was prone to loud tantrums. I was awakened at 1:30AM by his screaming that he couldn't sleep (probably because his dippy mother took him to the chocolate buffet at 11:00 PM). This cruise was a disaster for anyone without children.

Entertainment

One of things we enjoy about cruising is the the evening shows. Half of them were strictly geared to kids. We couldn't even find a place to dance that wasn't populated by kids whirling and spinning basically getting in the way.

Pros: Food, service, beautiful ship

Cons: It was a Nickelodeon cruise and filled with young children. They took over the entire ship and there were no "kid free" areas. Not recommeded for travelers without children unless you like being stepped on, bumped into, and lots of noise everywhere!

Recommends Norwegian Jewel? No.
