Review summary

When originally booked, this cruise was for Key West, but changed by Norwegian w/o explanation. Our first cruise, booked for our 50th Wedding Anniversary. A little disappointed, but this cruise was still very enjoyable. We would definitely book with Norwegian again.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Well organized with plenty of agents available.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The included restaurant menus were as good as the specialty restaurants, but the specialty restaurants we used were exceptional in food quality and service. The buffets offered a wide-range of options and most everything was very good.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
It's an older ship and the two pools are small and crowded. The music is exceptionally loud, even for an outdoor venue. Pools are saltwater.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Musicians, especially Luca! were exceptional. Attended 2 shows in the main theatre and both (country music and magic) were very good.

Children's Programs

No children with us, but there are a lot of activities available for children and teens.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Leo is an exceptionally friendly server in several venues and Malinda (Washhy, washhy girl) is delightful. Everyone we encountered, from room stewards, servers, bartenders, guest services, were all very friendly and helpful.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
It's an older ship, so the corridors are narrow and very winding. Depending on deck, it can be a little difficult to maneuver from aft to mid to forward. However, it was immaculately clean and well-maintained.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
The cabin is tight and, as this was our first cruise, it took a little getting used to, but it worked out well. Our Cabin Steward kept the room tidy and clean every day.

Ship tip

When the restaurants open at 5:30 p.m., there are lines. However, within an hour, there usually very little if any wait.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

4 out of 5
Easily assessable. It will be better when the new parking facility is completed. There are at least 5 or 6 ships sailing from there at one time.

Great Stirrup Cay (Cruise Line Private Island), Bahamas

4 out of 5
There are quite a few activities available. There are 3 beaches and the further you go, the less crowded. On-board benefits (food and drink) are included here, so don't be shy at the bars and restaurants.

Falmouth, Jamaica

4 out of 5
We did the Horseback Ride and Swim. IT was amazing. The tour company is very considerate and safety-oriented. Everyone wears helmets and the guides ride with the group throughout the tour. The horses are gentle and well-trained. There were tours from other companies in the same area and they did not have helmets and the guides were walking - not very useful if a horse decides to bolt. Riding in the ocean was quite an experience. The guides were very helpful and paid attention to everyone's abilities.

George Town, Grand Cayman

Took a bus tour through the city and to "Hell". Very informative guide.

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
Tour included visiting a Mayan Bee sanctuary, cocoa processing facility, and tequila tasting.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
We chose self-disembarkation since we could handle our luggage. Quick and easy at-your-leisure. No waiting at the immigration station.
