Review summary

Only thing I’ve left off mentioning is once we found out we weren’t locked into just one entrĂ©e, we REALLY enjoyed the dining. Even experienced some new items we normally would have skipped had it not been included. Also
O’Sheehan’s wings are our all-time fave 24 hour cruise food!!!

Embarkation

We sailed out of Galveston. We really had no idea how things were done and it was ALL OVER b4 we knew it đŸ‘đŸŸ Looking back it was a pleasant experience and we’d like to embark from Galveston again one day

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
As we booked last minute and we’re on a severe budget, we had none of the customary “Free-at-Sea” add-ones which can usually be expected with NCL. That being said, we enjoyed the main dining. Belgian waffles at breakfast with pork substitutions. The eggs to order section of the buffet was also a fave. (We love breakfast) Crepes, oatmeal, home fries, and all the fixins our southern appetites desired. Though, the grits weren’t up to par. Overall, we likely gained the customary 10 pounds. And we made sure to get the drinks pkg and specialty dining on ALL subsequent NCL cruises. Cagney’s is a must.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
My wife enjoyed the daily planner activities and planned most of our days. My tastes were a little more whimsical, but, I let her lead and she was happy to pull me to karaoke, let’s make a deal, and some arts and crafts things. We learned to steer clear of Diamonds International. But she collected quite a few of the free trinkets b4 we learned not to waste our time 😆 I’ll add that she got seasick 5 days out of the 7 we were aboard and assured me that we’d cruise again despite that because she had so much fun đŸ€©

Entertainment

Didn’t do many shows on this first cruise. But we’ve enjoyed several since

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
On the first sea day, several bartenders learned our preferences and were making our drinks before we could order. Nowhere did we encounter anyone who wasn’t ready to cheerfully serve us. Note: we were in a guarantee inside, didn’t tip more than a dollar, and not once did we feel like any waiter, bartender, or staff were put off by that. (Next cruise we brought more cash. Quite a few of the same staff remembered us even though we hadn’t shelled out much dough. It made us want to when we sailed aboard the Jade again on our second cruise out of Tampa)

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
It was small and clean. Even having never sailed before, we knew the ship wasn’t large. It was easy to navigate and get around quickly on. I’d recommend it over larger ships for any with mobility challenges. We loved the less than 5 minute walk between venues and were never late to scheduled activities even when waiting at the bar for a drink to go!

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Nice, clean, not too noisy
and COMPLETELY DARK when we shut the lights off. No way other than our phones or opening the door to tell if it was day or night. We were slow to breakfast a couple times because the sun didn’t wake us

Ports of call

Coxen Hole, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

Disembarkation

A very sad affair. We hung around as long as possible simply because we weren’t ready to leave. And 10 cruises later, still don’t understand those who are in a hurry to disembark đŸ€·đŸŸâ€â™‚ïž
