Review summary

Just back from a 9-day cruise on the Getaway out of Lisbon. This is the first cruise in the Haven that has left me questioning my decision to stay in the Haven. There are many positives and a few negatives. First the positives. Had the best cabin steward he was on top of his game and was always one step ahead of me. Food in the Le Bistro, Cagenys, and Maderno we're very good and the service was also good. Food in Haven Restaurant was good and the service as always was outstanding. The ship is well-maintained and everything was in working order. Neither positive or negative were the shore excursions some were not described accurately. The Haven Bar staff was another great experience. Embarkation out of Lisbon was the most disorganized operation I have ever come across. There was no shoreside staff outside to guide guests. The Haven line was not marked. I did manage to find the secret location after 20 minutes total time to check in was over an hour. Unfortunately, I had a Butler who was less than pleasant to be around. It seems that everything we requested was a chore. After the 2nd day I just stopped. Our Concierge was the worst I have ever experienced. I have never been told to go to the shore excursions desk to cancel one. I asked him to help see if we could get a reservation at Cagney's he took the information never got back to me one way or another. His attitude was less than stellar. The combo of a bad butler and Concierge makes for an experience that is not what I have experienced in the past. I am hoping this is an outlier.

A complete cluster, no shoreside staff outside the terminal in Lisbon, no directional signage and a complete lack of organization. We arrived at the terminal at 11:30 and the line was totally out of control. We were staying in the Haven which is have priority embarkation it took me 30 minutes to find that location another 45 minutes to go through security and then check-in on ship at 2:15. Other took 3 1/2 to 4 hours to board.

This was a two-bedroom haven suite. The master bath was outstanding and my daughter having her own bathroom was a major plus. The room steward was fantastic he kept the room clean and well organized. The king-size bed was very comfortable. Only slight negatives were lack of electrical outlets and difficult to move around bed on one side.
