Terrible experience on board Gataway; disappointed at Norwegian’s lack of service mind; feeling cheated by not going to intended destination and not being compensated properly.
Embarkation

Check in time slot doesn’t mean anything
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Food is good. But the free speciality dinning promotion is for only one meal regardless of the cruise length, which is another new practice I’m surprised to find out.
Onboard Activities
2 out of 5
Never saw the water slide opened even during 85 degree temperature days
Entertainment
1 out of 5
Shows were good, but not as good as they used to be; same shows on two nights to accommodate people which also reduced the variety they offered
Children's Programs
Didn’t bring children
Service and Staff

Service desk always have 30 mins wait or longer for any simple question; ship decided to skip Bermuda and we didn’t receive the written notice until a day or 3 days later; the shore excursions were all sold out and we couldn’t use the credit of shore excursions for anything else and the assistant general manager on the ship has no authority to compensate customers for such unfortunate change of cruise course or extend the credit for other use. The whole experience on board Norwegian getaway after pandemic is terrible! They don’t have service in mind, the service desk doesn’t want to help, only wants to send people away by telling everyone that there’s nothing they can do without even bother to take down the customer number and follow up. I’m the platinum member of Norwegian and this experience made me wonder if I should continue cruising with Norwegian.
Ship Quality
2 out of 5
Nice design and staff keep it very clean; but way too many passengers to have drastically reduced the service level
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Nice and comfortable, like the size and layout. But the walls are too thin and I can hear everyone walking around after midnight.
Ship tip
Don’t go on the ship with too many passengers. You have to line everywhere and make reservation for shows.
Didn’t even get us there with a meager $150 onboard credit to compensate. How much fuel Norwegian has saved not going to Bermuda? Bermuda was the only place we wanted to go and paid a much higher fare than those only go to Florida and Bahama. Norwegian should not treat all passengers as fool to throw $150 per cabin to hope to settle.
That's not accurate on the dining package nights.
A 3-6 night cruise any cabin type receives 1 night.
A 7-11 night in a stui, interior or ocean view receives 1 night. A balcony or "higher" receives 2 nights.
A 12 + night in a studio, interior or oceanside receive 2 nights. A balcony or "higher" receive 3 nights.
Sadly I have missed many ports and I am shocked you got anything back.I am sure there was a reason they didn't stop.I am sorry you didn't have a good time
Is agree with your feedback on the mishandling of the Bermuda destination cancellation. I am Platinum as well & about to use 1 more cruise next deposit, and will begin shopping around for another cruise line … 100% on point about the Guest Services desk ~ a huge waste of time. They never know anything about anything & quick to get rid of you after waiting on the line 30+ minutes! And forget about consulting the Cruise Director & their invisible Assist Dir. Anyone of us experienced cruisers can do that job 100% better!
NCL has seemed to be of the mindset once they have your money they could care less what happens to you! Not much of a business model to take paying customers and send them away unhappy then wonder why they are having a hard time getting repeat customer's
