Wonderful Cruiseline but working with Aon Affinity Travel for reimbursement has been horrible.

Review summary

I have cruised many times and the cruise sales agents always recommend we purchase the insurance which we always do. After this experience I am starting to believe it might be a waste of money and might reconsider paying the additional fees in the future. I have been working with AON Affinity Travel since April. I have submitted all the paperwork they initially ask for, then I wait 21 days and they ask for more paperwork. They have done this three times since April. I call and ask to speak with a supervisor but no one can connect me with anyone that can make an executive decision. Horrible customer service. It feels like they are waiting for you to give up.

Embarkation

3 out of 5
We waited in a very long line outside in NYC in March to check in for the cruise. It was cold, windy and unorganized.

Service and Staff

All of the staff that helped us was amazing

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Easy to navigate. Ship was very clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Our first cabin was above a bar that played very loud music unitl 1AM. The staff was very nice and moved us to a room that was much quieter a few decks up.

Ship tip

Be ready to be pampered! Attentive service, Modern and Clean Ship.

I to have been on many cruises. And I always get travel insurance. You never know what may happen. There have been medical emergencies on several of the cruises, (I thank God that it didn't involve anyone in my group). Well I take that back. On one cruise my sister did get sick and went to the hospital in St. Thomas, but she was cleared and able to get back on the ship. I do not work for any travel or insurance company, but I would suggest you look at the ratings for Generali, and then decide if they would be a fit for you the next time you travel. And once again hope that your daughter is doing well.

Insurance is definitely a good idea, just have to be careful who you take it with. Sorry your trip was cut short and hopefully your daughter recovered quickly

There are many insurance companies you can choose from. When you purchase from the cruise line, they get a commission. Do some homework and find one that works for you.

Sorry your daughter became ill. Glad the ship was helpful. Sorry your insurance company was not!
