Review summary

We won't be sailing with NCL again. My wife and I have been cruising for over 40 years and were very unhappy with this cruise. We would consider NCL to be at the bottom of our list, and we have sailed on most cruise lines numerous times in our 40+ years of cruising. We were told by family and friends not to expect much from NCL and they succeeded in delivering just that: Not much.

Million Dollar Quartet and Burn the Floor were among the best shows we've ever seen at sea. Piano player Antonio was exceptional. All other entertainment was average at best.

The ships layout was as good as any newly designed cruise ship.

Our cabin was average when compared to other balcony cabins we've had on other cruise lines. Nothing exceptional about it. Maintained well by cabin steward.

Cancel. There's way better value offered by the competition.

I guess it depends what you're looking for in a cruise line. Ncl has good shows. Try Oceania for food. As previously stated, to each their own. 40 yrs of cruising would have told you that ncl doesn't have a Michelin star. 40 yrs of cruising should have you telling us which lines do what things well. Sorry your expectations weren't met with your last ncl cruise.

It is also odd that the OP profile only lists 1 cruise. If someone wants a review to be of value they need to back up their comments. It is easy to add prior cruises sailed before joining this group.

I agree, it's a confusing review. Mostly everything is fine except for the non-memorable meals. Is every meal at a restaurant on land a memorable event? Ship is fine, service is good, entertainment is good. Seems like a good cruise. Embarkation mess is reported by 4 reviews out of 5 on every line.

It sounded like you enjoyed the cruise other than the buffet. Why did you want to leave? Most meals in the MDR are not memorable but doesn't mean they are not good. I'm ok with average.
