My most favorite cruise ever. We had an amazing time and are definitely considering sailing again over winter break out of NY next year.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
Left from NY. We got dropped off early and had first check in time. Highly recommend doing that way as things weren’t super organized especially with the Covid testing. However to be fair, NY was like this even pre-Covid. When all was said and done we were still on ship before 11am. No muster drill due to Covid this is why they ask you to watch video in advance. Our room was also ready and waiting for us but I heard there were no passengers on the sail prior from Miami up to NY.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
Delicious as always.
I have celiac and the ship was very accommodating.
We had speciality dining and booked Cagneys first. I am not a steak person but enjoyed it a lot. We booked La Cucina for second specialty meal and enjoyed. They accommodated me with GF pasta dish and a GF pizza. Couldn’t finish my meal!
Spent a lot of time in OSheehans (no wait ever which was different since pre-Covid) and only short wait for noodle bar.
Breakfast most mornings in Savor as we enjoy a sit down meal over the buffet.
Onboard Activities

Lots happening on ship.
We were exhausted most nights and didn’t partake in any big shows but my son was out most nights until at least midnight with Entourage sponsored activities in the teen club.
We also splurged this cruise on the spa pass for the first time and highly recommend.
Just be patient on sea days and willing to go back if a little crowded. Meal times and late night was practically empty.
We also splurged on hot stone mani pedis and haircuts which were also great.
Entertainment

As I mentioned already we didn’t take advantage of most of this but there was definitely a lot happening on the ship if this is your thing.
Children's Programs
5 out of 5
Son is 13 and he was out late every night with the Entourage crew.
I know the kids club not open yet for younger children but there didn’t seem to be a ton of little ones on this sail even though it was winter break. I suspect a lot of families may have bailed due to no kids club and vac requirements.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Fantastic experience. I know this is related to ship sailing at half capacity but there was definitely tons of staff to assist and wait on us. We ended up tipping much more than we normally would pre-Covid.
No waits in bars or restaurants like pre-Covid. Saw our room steward Arnold on deck 8fwd constantly and he was always asking if we needed anything.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Really enjoyed the layout of the ship. Easy to navigate. We booked room 8754 and it was a perfect location. It is over the theater so if you are in bed before 9pm this may bother you ;).
Cabin / Stateroom

Great location close to all. Arnold our steward was fantastic. Always available to see if we needed anything. Was prompt with cleaning and getting room set up for us in morning and at night.
Ship tip
Bring patience for the little things. We saw some people who were being ridiculous over small waits or not understanding what they had signed up for with some excursions then laying into staff unnecessarily for it.
Go all the way towards the back (left side?)of the island so you will be away from the crowd.
We rented a clamshell which was nice but definitely not needed.
Not super duper organized but we were still off the ship and thru customs before 9am. We ended up leaving our luggage out the night before which we probably wouldn’t have done before Covid due to crowd disembarking.
Thanks for the review. I am going on the getaway March 27th. Thankfully on the next sailing in March the kids club is reopening. Not that I mind her around me at all times. I just think she would love the kids club sometimes.
Thanks for your info! We are going on the same cruise March 20th and have been on the Getaway before, nice to have the info after Covid. My granddaughters were the the same way with Entourage, always back after midnight and said they felt safe.
