Review summary

Overall we enjoyed cruising with NCL and actually booked an Alaska trip on the Bliss for later this spring.

Embarkation

Did not enjoy standing in line for two hours and being herded through security. We saw several senior cruisers who could have used a wheelchair but there weren’t any. Not a good first impression of NCL.

Food and Dining

Moderno was excellent for food and service. Loved the salad bar. The Garden Cafe always had good selections for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It was clean and comfortable. We ate there a lot.

Onboard Activities

Loved, loved, loved the Thermal Spa! We used it most days.

Entertainment

Burn the Floor was very good. Great dancers.

Service and Staff

Our room steward was very attentive. He popped in twice a day and kept ice in bucket and room looking great. Restaurant and buffet staff were great. Bar staff were usually not very friendly or attentive except for the two guys that staffed the bar next to the Garden Cafe entrance. They were consistently friendly and seemed happy to be there. Cruise director always seemed enthusiastic and friendly.

Ship Quality

The ship was very clean and we thought the design was well planned for a large ship. There were a lot of people on the ship but we could always find a quiet place to sit and watch the great sunsets.

Cabin / Stateroom

Spa mini-suite. The room and balcony is not very spacious but the bathroom and shower is quite large. We would choose this room again. It’s close to the stairs and elevators. It’s on the port side and had great views of New Orleans when leaving and when docking in Cozumel.
