Review summary

Will not go on Getaway from New Orleans again. We did not like the layout of the ship. When people have to stand in line for 3 1/2 hours to board, it sets the whole experience in a bad light.

The ship got in to port late and they scheduled everyone to board while they unloaded the previous passengers. 3 1/2 hours to board.

Sailed this ship twice and loved it..... always do your homework on a ship it’s available online.....before you book.... as for the ship coming in late stuff happens it could have been worse I had a RCCL which some people consider a perfect cruise line come in a whole day late due to bad weather from Baltimore. It happens but I’m sailing them again. Why you didn’t do any onboard activities I don’t understand. I wouldn’t give them a one star for that because if you see them they look awesome and are fun. Some people are just a stick in the mud. The only thing I can agree on is the location of the casino with the smoke so always, always do your homework 🤷🏻‍♀️

I agree that the layout is not the best, for many reasons.. Cassino location is horrible for smoke going everywhere, too many choke points that cause crowds, smallest cabins and balconies out of every ship we have been on, and it was the worse riding ship Ive been on.. buck n chuck like crazy in anything over 15ft seas... Ohh.. I was on for a 14 day transatlantic, and 9 sea days.. so YES.. I got to experience everything the ship had to offer. It did have the best buffet Ive experienced yet, loved Osheehans, awesome Ropes course and Slides, and deck 8 water front was great! Shows were really good too... but as a whole, not a NCL fan, so moved on to RCCL. Once we did the Oasis class, that was it.. we are hooked on them! Will be on our 2nd TA on an Oasis class ship in 12 days! 🙂

You DO realize a full ship layout is available before you book a cruise?, even the dimensions of your cabin. Did you not try to familiarize yourself with the ship before your cruise?

Hmmmm. That’s odd. Because I loved this ship so much, I sailed it twice! It is a fabulous ship! And the food is excellent! I couldn’t think of one negative thing to say about this ship.
