Review summary

I think the biggest issue is that it is a big ship so there are a lot of people on board. But it felt so much more crowded that some of the smaller ships because they broke it out to smaller restaurants and bars and included private lounges and pools/sundeck for Haven and the solo travelers.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation was super easy and somewhat fast.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Just feel like the selections were so similar across the specialty restaurants. So many different restaurants to go made for small rooms with very limited seatings.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
I really did not do the activities.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Shows were limited but the ones that we were able to attend were good.

Children's Programs

I had no children with me.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Some wait staff were amazing. Others were just ok. The room steward was basically a ghost. She was never around to have any conversations. Her work was about half done. No trash bags in the cans, missing shower mat several times, etc. She didn't even take away empty glasses.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
The ship was clean but some of the public restrooms could have been checked several times. Smoking area was ignored overnight and by morning it was trashed. Design of the ship was awkward to say the least because of the Haven areas and private lounges and pools. It made for smaller areas for the general population and somewhat broken up. Also, while the front of the ship was empty with each sunrise and sunset, if you were not Haven, you had no access to the amazing views. The views where blocked by walls that you could not even see over.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
This was a great room!!! The size was really nice and to be able to wake up and watch the sunrise from our room was amazing. Shower was nice and big as well.

Ship tip

Consider if you like waiting due to the size of the ship. Even with a higher number of restaurants and bars, you will still wait because they are smaller. And disembarkment can be a long process for some of the stops. Especially if they require tenders.

Ports of call

George Town, Grand Cayman

The tender process was awful. Then when you got off, you were hit by a lot of sales.

Ocho Rios, Jamaica

5 out of 5
My favorite stop. Consider using Marvyn's Paradise tours (booked on trip advisor) for a private tour of Jamaica!

I was on this cruise and I agree...we made the trip fun ourselves and we were with a group of almost 200...but just the staff service alone was very poor . We did hear some were at the end of their contracts so maybe didnt care as much but still unacceptable. SYD NORMANS was our spot the house band was awesome...band members the best Emma, Andrew, Steven, Allie ...I failed to fill out the comment card on them but highly recommend seeing their show Medical Center horrible I fell ill and had to diagnose myself, the staff is really pathetic sign here sign here ummm slow down im not just going to sign honey 198 visit 190 in medication

I wasnt a fan of the Getaway design.. too many choke points, and felt crowded pretty much everywhere except the deck 8 waterfront. Compared to the RC Oasis class ships, even though Oasis class are 2,000 more people, it feels less crowded due to the design and massive width of the ship.
