Review summary

I would definitely do it again if I could get a different room. Staff was well trained and friendly. The "free" dining rooms included the usual buffet, but the Savor and Taste were comparable to the upscale "extra fee" dining rooms. They were divided into sections so you didn't feel like you were walking into a cavernous hall with hundreds of people. We didn't consider the ports of call to be important because we just wanted the experience at sea. It is nice to be on board while most people are on shore. The adult swimming pools were not adequate for 3900 guests and not easy to get in (no steps, just steep ladders).

Food and Dining

The restaurants were all excellent except for the service in Moderno. Main dining rooms felt intimate because they were divided into smaller sections. Buffet was awesome because they had sticky buns and cinnamon rolls for breakfast. Entertainment in Tropicana was WAY TOO LOUD for dining. We were lucky we hit a break, otherwise we wouldn't have been able to say a word to each other.

Burn the Floor was first-class. Million Dollar Quartet was not. Comedians were funny in small room, pathetic in the big theater -- same people, completely different acts.

The bathroom was great, but the room super ugly (brown, beige and gold -- yuk) and cramped. The door was too narrow to get a walker through without folding up, and there were always carts parked in the hallway so you could not get it down the hall. You should definitely get a handicap room if you have a walker. There were lots of storage shelves, not drawers. We didn't use half of the space. The balcony was so small it was scary. Two chairs facing each other and a table MAYBE big enough to put a drink on. The bathroom had a super shower with lots of jets like a car wash, and the sink was one long unit with a drain in the middle. Nicest bathroom I have seen on a ship except for Seabourn.

Ship tip

Get the biggest room you can and check the square footage of the balcony. wi-fi package was really expensive. Try to get a plan where it is included.

It's not fair to rate the port when I didn't take any of the planned shore excursions. They could have been great. There is nothing to see if you just walk off the ship except the usual plethora diamond and t-shirt stores with hawkers trying to coax you inside.
