I agree with LobsterPot and Cruisinwrights there are deck chairs everywhere if you can't them it's because you didn't look. Be for real, you will never find a lounger by the pool for two or three after 8am. There are people who get on the ship just to sit by the pool all day long, others place towels then disappear, just in case they want a chair. I wish the crew could do something about that, but it would be a loosing battle. My wife and I buy the spa and go there, or you can buy the beach club and go there. The pools on this ship and the Carnival Breeze are way too small for comfort on sea days, Royals Oasis class has the best pool ratio to people on a sea day, so go there if you are into pools. The Cruise is what you make of it, DON'T spend your good time wallowing in pain over a negative, move on and find something fun.

I always hear about everyone complain about the pool, what about all the other activities on board they have for you to do? If you are so worried about just being in a pool why not go to a resort?

No idea is Nanacin52 actually took a cruise or whether this is just a nonsense post but having been on the Getaway several times, it’s a big ship with more than enough deck loungers for everyone if you’re prepared to look around... The pools are small and inadequate if everyone wants to use them, but they are on all mega ships... For anyone who’s interested in serious information it’s an excellent ship, certainly on par with the other Breakaway class ships and with the Carnival & RCCL large ships... it has lots of entertainment and dining options... (P.s. We don’t sail when the kids are out of school so maybe it’s crowded on those weeks)...

Also people that reserve chairs at 6am and don't come to the pool till noon! Not fault of cruise line. We always go up on high decks and find chairs, more breeze up the too.

Actually, one pool is adult only, but the other pool is a family pool, not a little kids pool. I went in the family pool and the adult pool. We never had a problem finding a lounger, but we choose shady areas, not out in the sun, and they are usually empty. ALL the cruises I’ve been on, on 3 different lines, have always had crowded conditions pool side, and very difficult to find an empty lounger. This is not something that is a problem on the Getaway only.
