We've cruised on many lines, and this was our second time on the Gem. The staff are very kind and courteous, and we had very few concerns about the COVID safety measures in place. They were hard at work every day making sure we had an enjoyable experience.
Highly recommend eating at the Magenta, where Michael (special diet staff) will take care of you, along with Budi the Assistant Maitre D.
Don't do the Vacation Sensation Disney excursion. Between tickets and transportation, you're looking at spending over $500 for two rushed, half-day tickets at Disney World.

Testing was quick. Employees asked for proof of vaccine, then assigned a number for testing. Several dozen healthcare workers were available to test. Waited approximately 20 minutes in total.

Michael and Budi in the Magenta took care of us every night with fantastic service and cooked-to-order meals for my vegan wife. The other buffet dining was standard faire for cruising.

No complaints! The Gem is not a large ship by modern standards, but the space is well used and there are plenty of amenities.

Again, Michael and Budi work in the Magenta--couldn't ask for more.
Can't recommend the Vacation Sensation Disney Excursion. The bus left late, and returned early, because it goes to both Universal Studios AND Disney. If you factor this in with the commute (1 hour each way), it's hard to justify purchasing tickets for a half day at these parks. These times and details weren't included in our excursion package.
Thanks for the wonderful review. Have to agree on your assessment of the Disney package. Similar experience with the other theme park. Just not enough time to make the cost worth while.
