Food and Dining
5 out of 5
Food was good for the money. Nothing stood out as outstanding, however this was not my expectations. There is a lot of variety and several restaurants and eateries to choose that are included in the cost.
The Grand Pacific is very good.
The buffet is okay-but lots of choices for the entire family.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
I vacation about once every three years...
the onboard activities were awesome for what I want to do...Nothing stressful.
There is a golf chipping area that we enjoyed...other than that there are tons to do (very hour). If we missed something...we missed it, no stress.
(ps...stay away from Deal or NO DEAL..play bingo)
Entertainment
5 out of 5
The ships entertainment was solid (for the money). Always fun and engaging.
The singers and dance crew were very talented-so fun to watch.
Several themed shows.
Marissa and Dana were AWESOME!
Ineffable Two - terrific
The casino is too smoky for us....and we like to gamble...just too smoky.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
The crew was pleasant, not overly friendly-which we are okay with.
The Cruise Director was fantastic - he really kept the entertainment exciting. His crew was a bit unprofessional at times. They stated that they "had to work" while "we" vacationed. That was obnoxious.
The wait staff were fair to good.
O'sheehan's service was brutal (we avoid, and will avoid in the future). Not welcoming at all!
All other restaurants the service was fair to great depending on the time of day.
Again, The Grand Pacific hit a homerun. The service was always fantastic, even during the last breakfast.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Other than the "pubic" bathrooms, the (Gem) ship is very clean. The bathrooms often have debris and trash on the floor.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Always kept clean and tidy.
New towels always available.
Ship tip
Don't be in a rush to go to everything or all the programs. Relax and enjoy the ocean (your family, your kids, your spouse, yourself).
Eat in the restaurants and avoid the buffet. (Although it is fun to hear "washy washy, happy happy" at least once).
