Exactly. Do what I did. It worked out for us... Also, I lived in Monmouth county many yrs ago. I think there are a couple of stations that have overnight parking if metropark is too far for you. All of those parkings are way cheaper than the 40 a day the port wants to charge for parking.

We are coming from South Jersey. The cruise line suggested parking right across from the ship but they want 40.00 a day. That is insane.

I have sailed out of Manhattan 2 times. Both times I parked in a train station in NJ (Metropark) which is covered. Paid about 80-90 for a week there vs 320-400 in Manhattan. From that train station it's about 12 bucs to Penn Station in NY. From there a cab will cost maybe 10-15 to the port. I did that with wife and 3 kids and luggage... everything went smooth. I would recommend it if you're like me... hesitant to drive in the city (people drive wild there).

I We are taking Norwegian Cruise from NY in July. Do you have any suggestions about parking lots close to the cruise ship that are affordable?
