Review summary

The best part of this cruise was by far the onboard entertainment. The ports of call were also nice. The dining on board is not all that great unless you pay to go to a specialty restaurant. Activities onboard are limited and repetitive and often require an extra fee. Drinks are very expensive if you don't have a beverage plan (almost $10 for a 1/4 glass of wine, really?). Not a terrible cruise, but definitely did not live up to the hype. I won't be sailing with Norwegian again.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Specialty restaurants were fantastic. Buffet and free restaurants were not. Food was cold, servers were inattentive.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Very little variety, and many required an extra fee.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Shows in the ship's theater were the best part of the entire cruise.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Staff started out friendly and engaging, gradually got less and less attentive throughout the cruise to the point where servers quite literally ignored us in the Spinnaker Lounge on the last day.

Ship tip

Don't expect too much. After all I had heard about the wonders of cruising, this one fell far short of my expectations.

Drink package and dining package ftw!
