Ship: Norwegian Escape

We sailed this ship, a wonderful experience, sailed with my brother inlaw, we both enjoy this ship so much we trued to book another week on Saturday, but it was sold out. Everything about our journey was positive, from the checkin to the check out, the cabin, the food, entertainment and especially the casino. Amazing ship the escape would definetly cruise with Norwegian again that’s for sure. 5 Star

My husband and I traveled... by stacymay30

Sail date: /
Ship: Norwegian Escape

My husband and I traveled the last week of March. It was rather windy, but the boat movement wasn’t horrible. We do not suffer from motion sickness, but a few nights were rough. We were scheduled to GSC, but due to the high swells they canceled our stop and sailed to Nassau a day early and spent the night at port. I really like all of the ports and would totally sail the Escape again. The food was excellent at the MDR, the specialty restaurants and the buffet. The mojito bar was my favorite and the cellars was great! My favorite part of the trip was having access to the Thermal Suite. Hands down the most awesome thing ever. We went two times a day. For the size I did not feel cramped except at the buffet at lunch. I guess that is par for the course The service was excellent. My only mention this as the staff didn’t seem as proactive as in other ships regarding hand washing. We stayed healthy. We generally washed repeatedly. There were two sinks at the buffet to wash and hand gel. We stayed in a spa balcony room.

This is from the March... by southernbelle27

Sail date: /
Ship: Norwegian Escape

This is from the March 10th sailing. I wrote this right after disembarking but life got in the way and it sat in my notes file until now. This will be a long review that I broke into sections with input from my family. My parents (in their 50s)a and my brother and I who are college students. This was my first Norwegian Cruise, I have cruised many times on Carnival and once in Royal Caribbean. The ship: 3 stars The ship was hard to get around on. There is not a single deck you could walk around the entire ship on so there was a lot of walking around. And up and down one floor to get around something. The bars/ Restaurants close early which was annoying. Most every bar and restaurant was closed by 11:30-12am including the buffet. The only things open past 12am was O’Sheehan’s bar/restaurant, the skyline bar (the night club) and the casino. The skyline bar closed at 2:30am. This was unusual to my family not having anywhere to grab quick food late at night. The District Brew House was a favorite to sit and play cards but unfortunately did not serve food (snacks) until 5:30pm. It was also closed a few time in the afternoon when we went to go play. The Food: 5 stars Excellent food at every restaurant we tried and every Dinning room. The main dining rooms (Taste, Savor, and the Manhattan room) all had many things we all wanted to try and we were never disappointed with what we ordered and they had great wait staff. We ate at the steakhouse and it also was excellent, expensive being an al carte restaurant but was great food. We also tried food republic and the sushi was excellent and it was a nice place to sit and eat and not overly expensive. Be careful here however because you order from an iPad and the food comes out to the table as the food is finished being prepared, one of our meals did not come until everyone else was finished eating. The ports: 2 Stars Jamaica was fine, weather was perfect for us as we just went to Margaritaville and ate lunch. Great food and drinks but VERY expensive. Grand Cayman was kind of a bust. It was cold and rainy but since we had book an excursion through the ship (stingrays and turtle land and sea adventure) we still went. It was a long day of driving around to “Hell” And a rum factory (rum factory was not in the tour) and then we finally Got to the turtle farm. We felt rushed through the turtle farm and only help a turtle for 30 seconds before moving on. The stingrays where also a disappointment. We had don’t the Stingrays 6 years earlier and there were thousands of stingrays in the water to the point you had to not pick up your feet to not step on them. This time there were about 15 boats of people and 6 stingrays. The guide had to catch the stingrays and it again was a quick picture and you’re done. The pictures then cost $50 to have them emailed to you if you wanted. Great Strip Cay A nice day but very very hard to get a chair. We got off the bat at 11pm and never did get a beach chair and needed up sitting at the Bacardi bar the whole day. It’s a nice island and I look forward to seeing what they have done with it in a few years. Tendering however took forever and two of four stops (here and grand Cayman were tender ports) is a lot of waiting for a tender. Nassau We did the Atlantis Aquqventure. Very neat place to see but very expensive for what it is. For younger kids (y’all enough to ride the rides but young enough to still be scared and enjoy the park) would enjoy this a lot. For two college kids it was a lot of waiting and a very expensive day for what it was. The “Lazy River” was the highlight of this park. It is very cool but not very lazy. The Crew Members: 5 stars Very great staff. While the ports were not the most fun they always had water, popsicles, cold wet hand towelettes and a great welcome back for us and it was really a nice touch I have noticed the other cruise lines are lacking. They were also HUGE on clean hands. “Washy washy wash your hands wash you had wash your hand washy washy wash your hands” will forever be in my mind in a good way. Sinks are found around the buffet area as well as a crew member ready to squirt your hands clean. The Shows: 1.5 Stars We attended the comedy club multiple nights, the supper club, the midnight show and the Brat Pack. The comedy club was good but if you saw the same comedian twice you will see mostly repeat material. The supper club was terrible. The food was okay at best and the show was boring. The Midnight Show was great until about 30 minuets in when there was a obvious lack of plot and the songs all started to sound the same. We left 60 minuets into the show and t showed no signs of ending anytime soon. The Brat Pack was better in that it had somewhat a plot and the performances were entertaining with more dancing. The cruise overall was 3 stars. Had some amazing things and some things that could be improved.

Great Caribbean Cruise by moonshiner52

Overall, a good experience. Noisy neighbors whose kids ran in the halls of the ship all hours of the day and night. Would do some different shore excursions if I go again.

We had a wonderful time... by rivertales

Sail date: /
Ship: Norwegian Escape

We had a wonderful time on this ship. Second cruise we’ve taken, first on Norwegian. There’s no going back to another brand. The staff/service was excellent. My spouse has a severe food allergy. We contacted Norwegian before our cruise, and they added this information to our details. EVERY time we had our card scanned in one of the restaurants, they asked about the allergy and alerted wait staff, who inquired again at the table. Our room steward was extremely attentive. He kept our room in impeccable condition. On a 7-day cruise, we didn’t manage to visit all the bars and restaurants. We are considering another cruise on the same ship with a different itinerary. I would recommend this ship, wherever it goes, without hesitation.

Just got back from another... by aliciaanddan

Ship: Norwegian Escape

Just got back from another amazing Norwegian cruise! The ship is huge and never once felt too crowded. The cruise entertainment staff were so fun. T.T. was the star of the ship. We unfortunately missed the private island but not to worry we had a beautiful pool day. Our room steward went ALL out once he found out it was our birthday. Our entire room was decorated and he even gifted us a bottle of wine. The shows were entertaining! Don't miss The Company men. Don't have a single complaint a out this ship or trip. Hope you all enjoy it/enjoyed it as much as we did!

The Escape is definately a... by psgeltz

Sail date: /
Ship: Norwegian Escape

The Escape is definately a big beautiful ship! With that being said our storeroom was exceptionally small. We have been on other cruise lines before this one. Our state room attendant, Arnold was great! The food was actually good in all the dining areas and we never had to wait in any of them. The Ultimate Beverage package was not actually Ultimate! I've never heard of a all inclusive drink package that did not include water!!!!! And water wasn't cheap to purchase. The pool areas were very crowded and the pool chairs were stacked so close together it was impossible to get in and out of them. Many people tripped or fell while walking on pool decks. Tons and tons of children running around. Dangerous. Adult pools should be adult pools people!!! Could never get in a hot tub because they were full of kids. Smoking. I have never been on a cruise ship with so many smokers and smoking is allowed everywhere! Couldn't escape it in the casino even in the non-smoking area! I saw a post on here that another person noted how many people were sick on the ship and when they returned home as well. This was the case in our group as well. 😷 I'm not saying I won't cruise on Norwegian again but I'm gonna check reviews for sons of these really problem areas.
