Review summary

Crew works very hard to keep everyone happy and safe. Make sure to fill out the hero cards for the crew members because that is how they receive your gratitude unless you give them cash.

Embarkation

NY crew were great. People who tried to get checked in early were told to stand to the side and not block the people who are here at their check in time.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
TEPPANYAKI Is the best place to eat on the ship. Cagney’s quality of meat has been so poor lately. Many people in the restaurant told us when we sat down to not get different cuts of meat because they were grainy and or to tuff to cut with the steak knife. We also had the Italian and Seafood restaurants and both were just okay at best. MDR and Taste were okay.

Bayamo by Ocean Blue

Was not impressed with the food at all talked with others on the ship and they liked it. Not sure if they know what fresh seafood taste like.

Teppanyaki

5 out of 5

Best place on the ship for food. Just try to block out the noise from the chef’s performance

O'Sheehan's Bar and Grill

3 out of 5

Okay for breakfast, lunch and dinner but the menu never changes

Cagney's Steakhouse

3 out of 5

Quality of the meats have really gone downhill. Service is great but the food is nothing but brag about.

Tobacco Road Liquor Bar

5 out of 5

Great place to relax before going to the Pour House. Very under staffed.

The Manhattan Room

3 out of 5

Food is okay, beware of the pushing crew service that hands you hero cards and say that they are survey cards

Taste

4 out of 5

Food is good, not great. Service is great. Open breakfast, lunch and dinner

La Cucina

2 out of 5

Better tasting food at an Olive Garden. And we hate Olive Garden!

Garden Café

3 out of 5

First few nights is the best time to eat here. Breakfast is really good. Avoid any lunch meals, not worth the time wasted and better food at other places.

District Brew House

5 out of 5

Tied for second place as the busiest bar. Service was great!

Atrium Bar

5 out of 5

Busiest bar on the ship

Onboard Activities

We had a spa balcony cabin and spent 6 out of 7 days in the spa. Spa was great in the morning and later in the evening. The lunch time crowds must not be able to read or they are blind and they think they are at the pool. Ladies did their best to talk over the sounds of the pool’s fountain and water jets.

Tradewinds Shops

2 out of 5

Not much to buy in toiletries. The usual stuff and nothing special. Compare the prices to what you pay onshore.

Sun Deck

4 out of 5

Best place to get your tan on and not have to worry about the crowd.

Pulse Fitness Center

3 out of 5

Only day I saw more than 3 people in at one time was the first morning

Mini Golf

4 out of 5

Fun times for everyone!

Mandara Spa & Salon

4 out of 5

People need to learn what quite means. Go early or later in the day to stay away for the loud mouth people that don’t see the quiet zone signs every 5 feet. Crew is the best, keeping fresh towels available and for keeping the floors dry.

Escape Casino

1 out of 5

Best place on the ship to catch second hand smoke cancer.

678 Ocean Place

4 out of 5

Nice but to small for what it’s used for

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Choir of Men is the best thing on the ship. Comedy shows are next then the band in Sid Norman’s Pour House. Everything else is not worth the time.

Headliners Comedy Club

5 out of 5

These guys were some of the best I’ve seen on any of the ship. Definitely seeing them for the 18+ age group is a must.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
It takes the Room stewards all day to take care of the rooms because they are so short staffed. Very few bars are running full staff and at certain times of the day they do get overwhelmed. If you see the bar busy then just go to another bar towards the rear of the ship

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Atrum area is a madhouse. So much noise it’s hard to hear at any of the stations/guest service, shore excursions, Internet cafe and on and on.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Cabin was clean and the air conditioning worked great. Toilet did not flush for the first 3 day. Had to ask for robe’s for a Spa cabin. Took 2 days to get the remote for the TV.

Ship tip

Front set of elevators work separately from the other 4. Make sure you push both sets of buttons to call all 8 elevators. Aft elevators were never busy.

Ports of call

Very little to do unless you’re going on a excursion

Portland, Maine

Saint John, New Brunswick

Walked to the City Market and the 2 malls and it’s a waste of time. City Market is a farmers market/garage sale. The other two malls were half empty of shops and most of the others were closed for some reason.

Disembarkation

3 cruises disembarked on the dock with in 200 feet from each other. None of the buses were marked for what/. where they were going. People started fighting. with each other becaue. some were waiting to find out where to get their bus and others were sent across the street for any other transportation. None of the cruise lines were prepared for that many people at once, too including the Port Authority of NY.
