Norwegian Escape

7 Night Eastern Caribbean (Port Canaveral Roundtrip)

Sail date: November 13, 2021

Ship: Norwegian Escape

Traveled as: Singles/Friends

Reviewed: 3 years ago

Review summary

NCL Escape was ready for it's return to service. Yes, there are always complaints about something from some looking for freebies. I had no issues.

Embarkation

3 out of 5
COVID testing at port fast testing, clumsy reporting results for clearance. After an hour wait (CVS states processes 20 minutes), asked about results and was given clearance. NCL port operations 5 star, CVS 2 star.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
NCL staffing to provide return cruisers an outstanding cruise. Staff genuinely was happy to see this return, felt valued.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Plenty of activities, ropes lines was also fun to do. Cruise director and staff were also engaged and a good time by all.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Choir of Man, fun show that had me rolling. But, if you're not a British humor fan (Monty Python, Graham Chapman) you may not get it.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Repeat myself, I believe all staff was happy to return and provided a great return experience.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
ship was well cleaned and ready for return to service.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Balcony BC category was sufficient for 2.

Ship tip

I like to take some magnets to hold papers and notes to walls. Makes it easier to post event sheets next to door for scheduled events.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

5 out of 5
It is clear why this Port has become #1 for cruises in Florida. Efficiency to include parking runs smooth.

Tortola, British Virgin Islands

4 out of 5
Although small, locals were happy to see cruising return. Excursion to Van Jost was fun.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

4 out of 5
Port great. Excursion was advertised snorkeling on wreck site, no wreck site. I am a certified diver, was planning on snorkeling a wreck, definitely a false narrative.

Great Stirrup Cay (Cruise Line Private Island), Bahamas

5 out of 5

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Sad to depart
