Review summary

We opted to take our children on ship because when we were on it the previous year (with 25+ adults), we noticed how much there was to do for kids. We are happy that we did! Our children had an amazing time... and that made it amazing for us.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Simple, pretty fast, and all personnel were pleasant.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Hibachi - 5 Star, Main Dining - 5 Star, Buffets - 2 Star

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Due to the weather we weren't able to enjoy the outside amenities as much as we would have liked this time around (pool, hot tubs, obstacle course, slides) - but we took advantage as much as we could when the weather cooperated. Our kids still had a blast (especially in the arcade and activity area near the bar - bowling, etc... ($300+ worth lol)

Entertainment

Children's Programs

4 out of 5
Our kids spent about 3.5 hours at Splash Academy on Sunday. They loved the staff... loved the activities... but said some of the other children weren't that nice... so that is the only reason they chose not to go back again. :(

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
So this is hard. We had a really good experience with the waiters and ship personnel so I'd like to give a 4-5 star for them... but a terrible experience with our room steward - NEGATIVE 5 for him. He was almost non-existent... We felt like he forgot we were there - rarely cleaned the room and we not only left our "please clean room" light on but verbally requested it multiple times when seeing him in the hall (we ran out of shampoo on day 3 and had to use the little bit of body wash to wash our hair... then he refilled the shampoo, after we asked, and ignored the body wash that was emptied by day 4), dirty room from day 1 (silverware, dishes, food left in cabinets and fridge... from previous room "tenants"), we had to ask for tp, tissues, towels, etc... it was awful.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Yes, common areas were clean... layout was great - easy access to everything... great ship (it was our 2nd time on this one) :)

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
So the cabin itself was great! It was roomie enough for my family of four. Our kids LOVED the balcony!! UNFORTUNATELY, I can't rate a 5 start due to the fact that the room was dirty when we arrived (leftover food in fridge, dirty dishes, utensils, napkins in closets, water bottles from previous tenants in 2 closets, sticky residue on counter-top where phone is, un-vacuumed carpets, empty tissue box, and half roll tp leftover... plus room was only made up for 2 people.

Ship tip

Check out the hibachi... especially if you have kids 6 and over... our kids LOVED it and the cooks we had (we did it 2X) were great with them. Also - DEFINITELY CHECK OUT THE WHITE OUT / GLOW party... We did this 2X before w/ adults only and this time took our 2 children (age 6 and 8) - They had a BLAST!

Ports of call

New York, New York Did not visit port

We drove in to just park and get on ship... left NY immediately after.

Royal Naval Dockyard, West End, Bermuda

WE LOVE BERMUDA. We have done (3) Bermuda cruises so far... only (2) actually made it to Bermuda (our cruise in 2018 was diverted due to a hurricane). Anyway, we would definitely go there again... still so much to do and see. We also love parking there overnight which enables us to come and go as we please.

Disembarkation

It was orderly but took an hour to get off the ship. We exited with our own luggage so once we got off the ship, the exit to our vehicle was swift.
