Review summary

Overall it was a good cruise. I was expecting to be blown away by NCL compared to Carnival considering everything everyone on line told me before my cruise. One person said I will never go back to Carnival. This is not true. I was not blown away. Matter of fact I have a few things I LOVED about NCL over Carnival but more things I disliked compared to Carnival. For example I LOVED how NCL organizes their photographs. Carnival does a TERRIBLE job at this and makes everyone look for their photo. I love how NCL has each of our photos in a folder just for us. The thing I hated the most about NCL and the main reason why I won't go again with them is because of the entertainment. Carnival has a show each and every night and I have NEVER had to miss anything I wanted to see. With this cruise I didn't know to make reservations for the other shows and we didn't get to see anything we wanted. We love comedy shows and didn't get to see any of them except for the one that was in the big room and we didn't have to make a RSVP. So for this reason alone I will probably not cruise NCL again unless there is a way I can be sure that I get booked on every show that I want ahead of time.

Food and Dining

This was the first time that I cruised with NCL. People said that the food on NCL was better then anyone else and I will never go back to Carnival - Honestly I didn't see much differences. I think the food was okay. It was about the same as Carnival.

LOVED this place!!! We ate there at least once a day! Go at different times to get a different menu!! LOVED the nachos!!!

Onboard Activities

Rope course was fun. It was never completely open. The zip lines were only open a few times for a little bit. The pools were ALWAYS full no matter where you went.

I loved this. I am a 45 year old plus sized woman and I had so much fun doing it. My only complaint is the entire thing wasn't open. They only had parts of it open and every time I did it the zip lines were closed.

This photo gallery is so much better organized then ANY other ship I have EVER been on! I love how they have a folder just for us! I hate having to search for 100's of photos to find my family! **Also if you are going to buy photos...be sure to buy in advance on line! I got 23 photos for $99 and if I would have waited it would have been only THREE photos for $99!!! So worth it!!

Entertainment

I am only speaking of Choir of The Man..which was EXCELLENT!!! Loved it. The supper club with the magician was boring. The comedy shows that we saw were okay. Nothing special.

Ship tip

Book every show you want on the very first day. We didn't do this and didn't get to see any of the shows that we wanted except for Choir of the Man which I booked ahead of time on the phone. **Also if you plan on buying photos....Buy them ahead of time before your cruise!!! MUCH better value. I got 23 photos for $99 because I bought ahead of time. If I would have waited I would have ONLY got 3 for $99!!!

It is okay..but all of the stores close at 5 which is very stupid in my opinion because "we" would shop a lot longer if they were open. Also the Museum tour is WAAYYY too expensive and not worth it. The beach within walking distance sucks. Don't waste your time going there. Go to Horseshoe Bay!!

If u choose NCL again just go on line and book ur shows once u have pd ur cruise, you will have a set time for each show, comedy etc each night which i liked cuz u can plan ur dinner time around that and you know ur gonna have a seat instead of just walking in, I love NCL i dont dislike Carnival but i like how NCL is more structured 🌴

I like both lines. However, I tend to choose NCL because with the perks they include, fairs are actually less than Carnival. Just a personal preference. I read about booking the shows prior to sailing on Escape, so we didn't miss any of them. Gotta do your homework these days.

The only thing better than carnival is the drink package and specialty dining package. Carnival shows were way better than NCL
