Review summary

Overall the cruise experience was pleasant. I feel the pool area was overcrowded and had limitations.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Quite pleasant and easy.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
My favorite was the Taste and Savoy. The food and service was excellent. The buffets wait time was longer than expected.

Onboard Activities

1 out of 5
The pools were smaller and very few. I believe it was because of the water slides.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
I really enjoyed the Island Notes and Sunshine Duo. The other show's were booked in advance so we were unable to see them.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
The crew would have earned a 5 star rating. I had one issue in guest services with a staff who ignored me standing patiently to be served. She looked directly at me, the proceeded to ask someone who was on another line (7 Mins after me) Hi, may I help you? Then appeared to catch an attitude when I brought it to her attention. Her hair was blocking her name tag, which in the service industry, the name tag should be clearly displayed. She never apologized for my wait.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
The ships layout with limited pool space was unsatisfactory. The men's rooms has limited stalls and should be cleaned more often.

Cabin / Stateroom

2 out of 5
The bed was quite uncomfortable. It reminded me of a cheap bed in a old nursing home. The shower stalls doors push inward and has limited movement for a person of avg to above avg size.

Ports of call

New York, New York

3 out of 5
We only visited St George's Island which I felt did not offer much.

Royal Naval Dockyard, West End, Bermuda

4 out of 5
Nice area. If you plan to shop make sure you visit the mall. Great value there.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Easy. I like the ability to carry your luggage off the ship. Helps avoid delays.

It is a cruise ship. The size of the pool is limited by marine architecture and engineering principles. All mass-market cruise ships have relatively small pools, for the number of guests onboard. If you want pool amenities with ample room, try a hotel or resort. The water slides are a major draw for families with kids. Perhaps you should try a luxury line, like Viking. Their ships are smaller, with more pool access.
