Review summary

Family Fun from New York to Bermuda. Two Fabulous days at sea and three lovely days in Bermuda. Norwegian exceeded my expectations. From wonderful on-board amenities where you never really need to leave the ship to a beautiful island with so many excursion options, I highly recommend the Norwegian Escape and plan on travelling again on this ship out of Miami in January. Norwegian's staff and crew take the time to enhance your vacation; from restaurants to shows to your cabin steward, it was a fantastic time!

Embarkation

Security was fast and then we were lead to the The Haven room where we did check in (5 minutes). Staff was super friendly. We then waited for a cruise person to walk us to gangway. Went directly to our room in the Haven. No waiting at all!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The Haven dining room was a real treat! Great selection and a special dinner each night! Cagney's filet was excellent. Teppanaki was fun. Great selection on menu and was able to accommodate our food allergies. La Cucina had fabulous service. Food was not as good as anticipated but our waitstaff made up for that. Love O'Sheehan's. Great Black and blue berger and "naked" wings. Artichoke dip was fantastic. We frequented the bar in The Haven every night. Always a new drink to try. Love the The District. Fabulous piano singer and a large selection of beers.

Onboard Activities

The pool and sun deck in The Haven was an oasis. Went to the 80's party in H2o. So much fun. Did the 70's line dancing in the Atrium. So much fun!

Entertainment

Choir of Man!!! Excellent show. Interactive with audience and served beer at the beginning of the show. Songs were beautiful. We were supposed to see After Midnight but unfortunately had a conflict. Loved Wine Lovers the Musical! Fun wine tasting and comedy. Included lunch and tasting of 5 wines plus a sparkling wine at the end.

Children's Programs

Only adults in our party.

Service and Staff

From the moment we stepped on our butler greeted us with a fruit basket. He delivered coffee to us every morning at 7:30am along with pastries. Unfortunately I broke my foot in Bermuda but between our butler and pool service staff, they brought me ice for my foot and helped with anything I needed. Priceless! Our concierge booked our shows and helped with the specialty dining options and escorted us to shows and restaurants. He also secured a wheelchair and staff person when I need to get back on the ship.

Ship Quality

I would have given this a 5 but I feel they might have needed another set of elevators. However there was always a crew member cleaning. Senior staff were always walking though and stopped to chat.

Cabin / Stateroom

The room was wonderful. Plenty of space, full size tub, great closet area. Sitting table and an addition chair that could open to a twin bed. Room was always clean!

Ship tip

If you can splurge for The Haven it is worth it!

Although I did not do a tour as I live in CT, NY is a wonderful place with museums and culture.

Royal Naval Dockyard, West End, Bermuda

Beautiful island with beautiful people. The island is lush with fabulous foliage and the bluest of waters. We did a private tour with Winsome Transport. We learned so much about the island and had lunch in St. Georges. I would highly recomment them.

Disembarkation

We did the walk off at 7:30am. No crowds. I had to be wheeled off so I was assigned a staff member to wheel me off ship and then met up with my party. I would totally recommend getting off the ship early!
