Review summary

First Norwegian cruise was ok but we will look to go back on Royal Caribbean in the future. “Included” drink package was a hit as well as the number and variety of bars. Food was good but service sometimes slow. District Brew House was a great spot to relax and have drinks and snacks. Spice H2O was a hidden gem with the grotto and bar. Main theater is too small for the size of the ship and would prefer the game shows be in the theater rather than the Atrium. O’Sheehan’s was a nice option for meals and snacks.

Embarkation

Parking and leaving from NYC was easier than expected

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Mostly good experience but one bad night with service. Garden Cafe food was better than expected.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Fitness center was great. Kids enjoyed slides and ropes course.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Choir of Man was one of the best shows we’ve ever seen on a cruise ship.

Children's Programs

No young kids

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Everyone did their job but definitely not as friendly as some other ships we have been on.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Prefer the open promenade of Royal Caribbean ships. Escape was nice ship and clean but seemed smaller and more crowded due to design and layout. Did NOT like the smokey casino being out in the open.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
No cruise cabin is large but this was a balcony family mini-suite so the bathroom was roomier than other cabins we have been in. Balcony seemed small. Storage was good.

Ship tip

Enjoy the grotto in SpiceH2O as an alternative to the crowded main pool. It was a nice place to cool off.

Ports of call

Royal Naval Dockyard, West End, Bermuda

5 out of 5
Third cruise to Bermuda. Free Norwegian ferry to St. George was a bonus. Bermuda Triangle excursion was fun and informative.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Took longer than expected to get off the ship and get luggage.
