Gastroenteritis outbreak on the cruise. Extreme sanitizing occurred in all public areas. Many passengers and crew became ill.
The chemical used to sanitize the ship caused many other passengers to become ill with upper respiratory illnesses including myself. Although I appreciated their vigilance to sanitize, I feel masks should have been provided to passengers as some crew members wore when cleaning walls, elevators, cafe buffet areas.

Complimentary dining rooms menus were disappointing and food taste was not great. No lobster meals served in complimentary restaurants. Bayamo seafood specialty restaurant was excellent. I ate there 3 times. Cafe buffet was good.

Pool deck, trivia games, spas. I didn’t particularly participate in many activities but there were many activities.

Room steward was attentive. Some Cafe staff seemed inpatient towards me during the gastroenteritis outbreak because they had to follow a different protocol.

The detergent solvents used to wash bedding caused itching & rashes on my leg extremities. I was forced to sleep in long pants & socks to sleep more comfortable. Otherwise my cabin was well kept.
Ship tip
Prepare yourself when sailing with 4000 passengers. Bring masks & disposable gloves in case of an illness outbreak.
No public beach nearby so I took a taxi to Paradise Beach which was 15-20 minutes away. Also a $3 fee is required to enter and $10 to exit if you don’t consume food or beverage. Very costly. Otherwise beautiful place.
Gastroenteritis outbreak occurred on this cruise. Although I appreciated the vigilant sanitizing process, masks should have been provided to passengers. Many of us became sick with upper respiratory illnesses because of the chemical used to sanitize all public areas.
