Review summary

Do not think freestyle is for us. Will not go out of NY again. Definitely never at Christmas. Too many kids!

Embarkation

2 out of 5
Long, wet, and confusing

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The food and service were fabulous.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Could not get near the hot tubs which is one of my favorites. Too many kids in the pools,

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The shows were wonderful! The music was geared mainly to the younger crowd, lots of latin, We do latin but not all the fast stuff which is what they played. Too much club music.

Children's Programs

No kids

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Everyone was polite, helpful. The cabin steward was great.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
It was a beautiful ship. The only thing I would change is the jogging track. It should have been somewhere away from the general public. the poor joggers had to keep dodging people, mostly kids.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
The bed was up against the wall where the window was so you had to climb on the bed to look out the window. Other than the bed, there was only a small stool to sit on. there was a lot of storage.

Ship tip

Make sure freestyle cruising is what you are looking for. For us it was more like a free-for-all.

Ports of call

New York, New York

3 out of 5
No excursions. Just embarked ship

Port Canaveral, Florida Did not visit port

Have been there many times. Not to mention we didn't arrive until 3 pm so mosty excursions were cancelled

Great Stirrup Cay (Cruise Line Private Island), Bahamas

5 out of 5
Loved the beach, and everything. Didn't book and excursion. Wer like to explore on our own.

Nassau, Bahamas

2 out of 5
Weather was terrible. It was Christmas day so most everything was closed. Heard that tours took place but the destinations were closed except the beach. Most of the stores, restaurants, and most of the straw marker were closed.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Left at 7:45 and got right off.

Maybe Viking or saga cruises are for you. Going when it’s holiday season (Christmas) kids will be out of school so it will be busy. Do your homework before you cruise.

We cruised out of NYC September 30th, very few kids. As far as eating goes I made reservations for the specialty restaurants way before we sailed and had no issues with wait times. For us it’s way better than carnival and NY is NY deal with it
