Review summary

This cruise was very disappointing. Too many underage kids drinking, running through the halls and slamming doors to getting into adult clubs. The parents not supervising their kids. The room was not clean when we arrived and our toilet had a strong odor the whole time. It was annoying that people leave their belongings unattended on lounge chairs for hours at a time so you can't get a chair. The staff on are supposed to monitor it, and if it's over an hour remove items but that doesn't happen. I wouldn't cruise NCL again. I would go back to Royal Carribean.

We saw After Midnight and For the Records. The shows were great.

Service and Staff

The bartenders are the ship were very rude. We had the ultimate beverage package and had to wait at times 30-45 minutes to order 2 drinks.

Ship Quality

Our balcony stateroom was poorly cleaned when we arrived on the ship. Their was a brown stain on the couch and the carpet was stained as well. Our toilet had a strong urine smell the entire week on the ship.

Ship tip

This was our 3rd cruise with NCL and I have to say that I was very disappointed. It's unfortunate that there were so many under aged drinkers running around the ship causing havoc.

@weezer1957..why do u say ncl sucks? How many cruises have u been on with ncl? Just curious.

When we were on Escape in October, there were few kids. It was a wonderful, relaxing family cruise. As a retired principal I used to only be able to cruise during school holidays. What a nightmare. That's when I wanted to be away from kids😜 Now any time but school holidays is when we go! Happy Cruising!!!

That’s funny those are the reasons I stopped going on Royal Caribbean and now go on NCL. Also we book in October when most of the kids are in school. 65 days and counting πŸ›³πŸ˜Ž

Ncl sucks

Hbogart2: I always travel solo also. The Solo gatherings are great too if u don't want to dine alone. Sometimes I do want to be alone....sometimes I don't...and I have that choice...it's great!! Thanks for the high 5 viviennepagano!! Isn't it always a shame when someone has a bad experience when we all know how really great an NCL cruise can be?

Can't blame cruise line for rowdy kids! Have sailed Norwegian 22 times with three planned in the next 5 months. Freestyle is the way to go, love NCL!

Been on 11 Ncl cruises with 2 more planned....sure not everything is perfect but my goodness you spend your hard earned money so enjoy yourself and not focus on everything negative .....some people complain if the ice cream is to cold and water is to wet

Was on the Escape in May when school is in session hardline any kids also a balcony room which was clean and taken care of every day ( I bring my lysol wipes too) rude people hog the chairs on all cruise lines totally agree with clclip4xs try a smaller ship like the Gem ( my favorite) and definitely go when the kids are in school

As someone who cruises frequently on many different lines, I would put NCL ahead of Royal Caribbean in most categories... Not all NCL trips are perfect but one thing’s for sure they don’t have that awful Windjammer buffet....

I have taken many cruises with NCL and have never had a problem and I travel alone. I always enjoy NCL.

I have been on Royal and NCL and they all have the same pro lem espically with parents bringing kids. To be honest I think most kids are just bored, so again it happens on every cruise line.

I think 1 person's experience on a first time cruise isn't necessarily the average experience. If you really take time and read ALL the reviews, the good ones FAR outweigh the bad. I think it has a lot to do with attitude and expectations....and frankly, luck as well. Especially during summer break from school. Will always be more kids from June to September. So maybe don't book those months. You will see more kids on ANY line during those months. I also believe the longer itineraries tend to have fewer kids. But....don't let just 1 experience keep you away. Try at least one more time, maybe in Oct or Nov....and make it a 10 day cruise....and maybe on a smaller ship. There are cruises to suit everyone....just have to know how to pick them. Good luck!!

We were thinking of doing a NCL cruise but here many complaints. I always thought they would be really good because they are more expensive. I guess you don't always get what you pay for.
