Review summary

had a great time on this cruise. bad part after leaving the ship you have to cross a main street dragging your luggage and stand on the sidewalk with hundreds of people to get a cab with no shelter form the rain. really sad for NYC

I don't understand why people are crossing the street? We leave out of NYC all the time and while waiting for someone to pick us up there are taxis picking people up at the pier. Its the upper level and plenty of taxis, limos, etc are picking people up.

Thanks maer17 you hit the nail on the head. The west side highway can be dangerous at times

Yes you are right about nyc needing to have a proper pick up spot for people getting off a cruise at that pier off the west side high way. I drive there to and from work and it’s surprising to see the risk post cruisers have to take to get to the other side to get a taxicab or uber if you will. Dragging suitcase, the elderly and small children. I say this because I see it. So for whatever reason someone need to cross the street to get picked up, to avoid the crowd, to head uptown or whatever. There should be at least a covered area where people can have a choice. I’m sure New York love the $$$ cruisers bring to the city so let’s not blame our fellow cruisers. Let’s say NY should make us at least have a Hassle free post cruise experience 😘

We crossed the street ( in the Rain) and waited not even 5 mins for a cab.

Not saying its NYC’s fault. For such a great city it should have a better facility for pick up. For some waking across that street with family in tow can be challenging

How is that New York’s fault??? We been on cruise’s many times from that port and other’s have a car waiting at the time of debarkation or call Uber or limo.

We crossed the street and waited but a few minutes for our Uber to arrive; no waiting in line.
