Review summary

This was my husbands first cruise & my 2nd (1st on RC). We thoroughly enjoyed every minute. The employees clearly work harder than anyone in the world to make your exeperince great. We were able to secure VIBE passes (the private area on the 19th deck for 18 & older only) & loved that area, however, the hot tub was not bubbling so more like a bath. I saw previous Escape reviews listing the same thing so I am not sure why it hasn't been fixed yet? Especially when you pay an additional $100 pp for the pass. Also could use some type of music up there-almost too quiet & you can hear every conversation going on. We seemed to recieve some type of "treat' in our room most evenings-from chocolate covered strawberries to a bottle of wine one night...a very nice touch! The Howl at the Moon dueling pianos show is not to be missed! Very talented performers and an interactive experience. The only other thing that was bothersome was the passengers walking around the common areas barefoot...we even witnessed people in the buffet barefoot...gross! This is of no fault of Norweigan but I wish they were told to put shoes on for health reasons...also several people eating right at the buffet line..again not Norweigan's fault. We will definately cruise Norweigan again

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

all food was good from specialty-buffet. Especially enjoyed the dining rooms

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
for the most part very good. Some seemed overworked & tired. One dinner waiter freely complained about it & that employees even have to pay for their own wifi so it makes it difficult to communicate with their families. It made me feel sad

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
very clean-the only issue was our cabin was noticeably dusty. We actually had to wipe down all surfaces when we arrived. Our room steward, Ian kept the room very clean throughout the trip

Cabin / Stateroom

Ship tip

The balcony stateroom is perfect for 2 people with storage to spare. It can sleep 3-4 but I think it would be too close of quarters for more than 2. You can't beat the view with a balcony..worth the upgrade

Thanks for your review! Can hardly wait to go with all the great reviews, also some people just forget their manners if they had any at all!

When we were on the Breakaway last year the hot tubs had a knob to turn on the bubbles and it was timed at 15 minutes so it wouldn’t continuously bubble if no one was in them. Maybe that is why the bubbles didn’t work. I know that all cruise workers work hard but they know what working in a cruise ship entails and they make more money on the ship then they would ever make in their home countries. That is why they keep working on ships. Maybe they were just having bad day or making you feel bad and give them a tip. I work very hard to afford to go in a cruise and always appreciate what they do for me.
