Review summary

I'm a little disappointed that more and more things are becoming fee extra. Two of the shows on the ship were extra. The burger bar is a fee extra Margaritaville. I was also surprised that none of the 3 dining rooms were available for lunch. That was only available at the buffet or O'Sheehan's. Had to walk a long way to get something to eat in the afternoon. Nothing available at the pool area except hot dogs a couple of times.

It would be excellent except there was too much water on the deck around the pools and hot tubs. I saw 5 people slip and fall and I almost did as well. I had to shuffle my feet to walk. The Gem in November had someone squgeeing the water constantly.

There are many additional fee things to do on the ship. Even the Burger Bar from the Breakaway has been turned into a fee extra Margaritaville.

Taste, and Savor are available for lunch. I do agree , you can definitely get nickle and dimed, that is true for any cruise line though.

We had no problem getting lunch. Savor, Taste, O’sheehan’s and buffet were open for lunch. And the walking was good exercise as my Fitbit showed each day!

Yeah. I’ve had this issue with Norwegian. The reason I downloaded this app is I found out you have to pay a ridiculous fee of $10 for the app, no use I heard. They’re just getting your money. You’re probably gonna spend at more than $50 onboard if you’re not careful, excluding the daily gratuity fees. :(

I'm bewildered how people say they cant find a place to eat that you don't have to pay for. Yes there are quite a few pay as you go dining areas but that is what cruising is all about. Garden Cafe, Taste, Savor, O'Sheenans are all open for lunch. Yes they have the same menu everyday for lunch, at least you have choices. There is no longer a burger place available and Margaritaville is pay one price. Still think putting that on was a mistake. People complain about no room around the pool area then complain about having to walk to get food. Which would you prefer?? Yes it's a big ship with over 4200 people but there are plenty of places to eat if you take the time and look.

This was a big problem that I have with Norwegian, and why I've written them off completely. And although most of the budget lines are like this, Carnival's older ships are basically all free (dining-wise), except for premium steaks and the Chef's Table.

Taste and Savor were open for lunch daily on the May 6th sailing only the Manhattan room is closed until dinner The Choir of Men show was well worth the price and came with a complete 3 course meal and Irish ale
