Always wanted to try a larger ship but prefer the smaller ships as it's a better experience overall in my opinion. I've been on this same itinerary before but out of New Orleans and Tampa. Disappointing was Harvest Cay in Belize, NCL's new private island. Roatan and Cozumel were great as always. See my comments below. I've seen a lot better service on previous cruises I've been on with NCL. My favorite ship in the Norwegian fleet is still the Jewel.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Took forever to dine in the main dining rooms and specialty restaurants. It usually is slow on the previous cruises I've been on but it was exceptionally slow on this cruise.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
Loved the way the restaurants and bars were set up on deck 8. However, I prefer the smaller ships as it seems more of a personable experience than on the larger ships.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Although the theater was not as impressive as on the previous ships I've been on, the 2 shows that I went to were really good and "The Brat Pack" show was very entertaining and great effects.
Children's Programs
3 out of 5
Only used the kids program once during cruise but the 7 year old had a great time and the 4 year old didn't wanna return.
Service and Staff
3 out of 5
Room Steward was the worst I have ever had on any cruise. Not a lot of great things to say about the service I received on this cruise other than the Bartender at 5 O'clock somewhere who was awesome!!!
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
New ship and liked the layout on deck 8.
Cabin / Stateroom
Room Stewart was awful, worst I've ever experienced on any cruise. The room itself was nice and roomy compared to other cabins I've had on smaller ships.
Ship tip
You have to make reservations at the Box Office for most of the free shows which is different from smaller cruise ships I've been on. Food was just ok nothing to special.
