Studio room idea rocks!! by Cruzaholik

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Norwegian Epic / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Loved the whole idea of the single traveler studio rooms.  They were comfortable and the nightly meet and greets, afforded you a chance to meet new people without any expectations or pressure- you could go with group to dinner or show or do your own thing. There were many activities to partake of and plenty of restaurants to choose from.  I was somewhat disappointed in the food. Generally the food was ok but have been on other cruises that had much better tasting food and more variety.  Wish also there could be a modified beverage package selection instead of having to pay for a full 7 days worth of either alcohol or soft drinks maybe have option of half day worth of drinks for folks that don't drink a lot but not having to pay per drink.  Even though weather caused a few kinks especially on last day many of the folks on this ship were not able to make it to the private island as tenders were running behind, all in all it was an awesome way to vacation.  Special thanks and kudos the the shopping consultants for paving the way to a great shopping experience and to all the "working crew" for keeping the ship clean and running smoothly.Love

a cruise by rockme

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Norwegian Epic / Destination: Caribbean

the cruise was fun, loved the circus of dreams, and the burn the floor.liked the waterslides and drinks were great. the food was ok ,definately not any better than any other cruise line. and anything else on the ship you paid out the nose for, kind of ridiculous! and after 11 p.m. the ship was DEAD! or of course you could always donate more money at the all night casino,or play a game with lame prizes and stand in line to try and i say try and redeem your prizes. I,m not going to say i didn,t have fun but no more norweigian for my family (35) of us went on this cruise!

Norwegian Epic cruise by peterjkershaw

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Epic / Destination: Caribbean

Very good cruise, although you do get ripped off on a bottle of water at $6.50 per bottle. This is not included in your drinks packages. The internet WiFi cost is so expensive and not reliable at all.

Cruise ship review by Cruiser27455050

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Epic / Destination: Caribbean

The food was pretty good. The cruise ship staff was excellent. Did not like configuration of the room, especially shower and toilet. Ship very large and sometimes hard to find where you wanted to go.

Had an excellent time by stephineVanns

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Norwegian Epic / Destination: Caribbean

The ship was fabulous!!!  There was so much to do.   The food and entertainment was excellent.  My favorite island was Tortola.  Don't forget to purchase the rum from Cane distillery.   Great shopping at St. Thomas.   Fun and relaxing in Stirrup cay.  The snorkeling is excellent.

Medical Center by a015632

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Epic / Destination: Caribbean

Unfortunately all of us came down with bronchitis. Dr. Mark was wonderful! He discussed everything with us and explained the treatments, medications, and follow-up instructions. The facility was spotless and all of the staff were great. We had a great cruise in spite of being ill. We are planning our next trip to Alaska!

No bathrooms aboard by DrJJ

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Epic / Destination: Caribbean

People who like privacy when using the bathroom should not sail on the Epic.

There are no bathrooms. A person enters the stateroom by walking between the shower and the toilet, both of which are enclosed by a thin sheet of curved, frosted glass. When the lights are turned on, the people in the shower or toilet are on display. There is a curtain to close off the shower and toilet enclosures, but the sink is on the other side of the curtain.

Food was good. No Promenade Deck, though. Just a walkway on both sides next to the lifeboats. Cannot walk around the entire ship; bow and stern areas are closed off.

what to know about your view. by blairich

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Epic / Destination: Caribbean

The cruise line is good, meals were good, on board dinning's, were good, but understand when you book an balcony view you are not on the 8th or 9th floor. The life boats block you view to the water. On the 8th floor your balcony does not have a roof, everyone above you is looking down, no privacy. The staff was good.

Magical Cruise by Cruiser43851573

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Norwegian Epic / Destination: Caribbean

Favorite part was freestyle concept. Gave us flexibility to enjoy the ship at our own pace. Also loved the beverage and specialty dining that was included in the fare. NCL needs to improve their boarding process (one long line versus multiple lines). Would recommend the Epic as ur has a great layout and lots o amenities. I also loved the design of the stateroom.

Cruise Norwegian Epic by goinggruiseing

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Norwegian Epic / Destination: Caribbean

I loved meeting people from others parts of North America.  It was very hard to find a chair at the pool, and I didn't like the food in the Manhatten and Taste.  So I would rate the food poor except for the cafeteria on the 15th floor.  Our room porter was excellent and other staff up on deck 15 was great. Also never got to see "The Beatles" the bar was too small and I even went down 45 minutes before the show and no seats.

My First Cruise by May51951

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Epic / Destination: Caribbean

My favorite part of the cruise besides the buffet was the shows specially the dance one, then the others.

I didn't like to be at sea for three days.

I recommend the improvement of the balcony stateroom; rug, curtain, drapes and smell.

Best Cruise ever! by mernadean

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Epic / Destination: Caribbean

We loved the cruise from beginning to end! We got on the ship early, very organized. Our room was small but nice had a balcony. The food was amazing did the up charge was well worth it. The service in the restaurants was always amazing. The pool was busy but never had an issue with finding chairs as we don't sleep in. Our cabin steward Nengah Brata was very attentive and helpful. Vladimir Jankovic at the pool and cigar bar was efficient and fun! The ships Director Pedro was so nice and a pleasure to speak with. It was my husbands first cruise and my third we will definitely be going on Norwegian again. I was scared to go because of all the awful reviews but was pleasantly surprised  at the wonderful experience we had! Looking forward to rebooking!

Great cruise by pavs01

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Epic / Destination: Caribbean

The Norwegian Epic is a very large, beautiful ship with plenty of activities to do on board for everyone.  The staff were extremely friendly and helpful.  Our room steward was the best.  The food at the included dining venues and the specialty dining was excellent and the service at each one impeccable.  The only one I would not give but a fair was the Spiegel Tent dinner and show.  The premium seats are horrible so if you go don't pay for premium.  The regular seating looked much more comfortable.  The only thing we paid extra for that I would not repeat if I did it again.  The entertainment on board was top notch.  We really don't do excursions, but I would highly recommend taking in the view at Paradise Point on St. Thomas.  It was amazing!!!

Too Many People by TBSailing

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Norwegian Epic / Destination: Caribbean

The Norwegian Epic is too big and the layout of the rooms is difficult to function in.  We had the specialty dining package and couldn't get into any of the specialty restaurants.  We couldn't use the specialty dollars in the main dining room on items that were an upcharge.  There was little to no outdoor space in the shade to relax.  Not a great cruise at all.

Good and bad of trip by ipk407

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Epic / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Best was dining in 4 specialty restaurants. Service and food there was excellent, however in Taste restaurant for breakfast, had a long wait for orange juice after being seated. Spoke  with Mr. Fox the maitre' about the service, after that the service improved.

The rooms are horrible. The best thing we did was demand a Mimi suite with a bath tub and twin beds. The lighting is terrible, 2 clothes closets with no hangers but were supplied by the cabin Stewart.Bath tub so high I had trouble getting in and out. Sink so small Irv had trouble washing his face.

Gym was great, enjoyed the dancing we finally found, most were late at night.

Discribe  the ship as a gambling and drinking hotel. Will not return.

Not Impressed by katbrais1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Norwegian Epic / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Embarkation and disembarkation on this mammoth ship were a nightmare!  The whole trip felt unorganized and choppy.  The ship layout was not great, not nearly enough elevators for the amount of passengers onboard. There were never enough lounge chairs, there were lines for everything- all the time!  The best part of the cruise for me was the entertainment, which rarely happens on a cruise ship.  Zoe Jackson's vocals in Shakers Lounge were stellar, Pricilla, Queen of the Desert was impeccably well produced and performed, and Burn the Floor was a magical production. The casino was a joke, but it helped kill time when we had so much time at sea. I have cruised with Norwegian twice before around the Hawaiian islands and loved it, but I would not go on this ship again.
