Would have been nice except we didn’t get to stop at two of our four ports.

Review summary

We were disappointed that we couldn’t visit Great Stirrup Cay and Costa Maya because of rough seas. We had to move up our Cozumel port and that caused us to miss an excursion we had booked. Then we went back to Cozumel for a second time. That meant we missed half of our ports. So for the inconvenience, we were given a $50. non refundable credit to use on board. I thought that was really tacky!

We have missed Great Stirrup twice and if I remember it was about the same compensation that you received. Pretty lame to say the least. On the other hand, we missed a stop on Virgin due to rough seas and they gave everyone a 25% future cruise credit based on what you paid. They treat their customer base so much better.

Appreciate your feedback. Sorry you missed your excursion and ports. We actually docked once with heavy gusty winds. Things were going fine, then the wind hit us broadside, slamming us into the dock. Ripped a 4 foot gash into the side of the ship. They welded a patch and we continued on (a bit later than planned). That experience made me appreciate missing ports. Thanks for sharing your cruise experience.

We got $8 each credited to us automatically when we missed Ensenada last month, but luckily our travel insurance pays £150 pp per missed port so that softened the blow!

Tks for sharing..its always easier (and much cheaper) for the Captain to skip a port when its windy.. Money plays a bigger issue I think since covid

Norwegian seems to be missing a lot more ports than other cruise lines lately
