Review summary

My 11th cruise and probably poorest of the bunch. First time with NCL too so not a good advertisement. Generally morose attitude among the service staff, with only a few exceptions. I singled out three individuals for praise on the ship but they possibly stood out more because they were actually helpful when others weren’t. The entertainment was sparse and spartan. The shows weren’t all that either. Epic Beatles band in the Cavern club were excellent however, and there were other entertainers aboard who were good, but some that were definitely not. Many small issues were annoying, and hidden charges were constant. We had a ‘no gratuity offer’ but still received bar charges, service charges, even had to pay $0.60 on a $20 casino bet! Disgusting. Food was ok, but not a varied menu. $3.25 (+charges) for a 500ml bottle of water? Even if if you have the premium beverage package. So you can have unlimited Scotch but can’t take a bottle of water away? After this, I’d probably only go NCL if the itinerary wasn’t available elsewhere.

Never sailed with Norwegian, always hear bad stories about it. I was to book Epic as a last minute vacation because other RC line was full. Luckily, we found similar dates and route with Celebrity, although it cost us a little more. But I guess it is well spent the extra to guarantee our cruise vacation not become a joke. After reading these review, I m glad that I made the right choice.

I was on Epic just after you, from 17th to 24th. Had a lovely time, in studios, one South African bar man tried to show me how wrong I was for asking for less ice in my drink but all other interactions with staff were good, bar man in Cavern club remembered our drinks, the posh area was very relaxing, the Manhatten reception got used to us asking for a window table. So different people = different experiences

Least favorite ship of all. Poor ship design resulting in crowds, noise, and lines for everything. Customer service nonexistent. Seems like cruisers either love or hate this ship.
