Our first cruise on the Norwegian Epic cruise ship was very enjoyable. The only issue we had on the entire cruise would be the food was not very good. Every now and then you would get something that was just ok. We have been cruising for about 10 years now, and I would have to say this has been the worst food so far. We also had the drink package and found the mixed drinks not very good as well. But the beer, Heineken, was great!
Embarkation
5 out of 5
One of best since we've been cruising since 2010.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
The Epic is absolutely one of the best ships we have been on. But the only thing slacking is the food and drinks on this ship.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
The activities seemed to be pretty good. However, we did not participate in any of the activities listed here.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
The Burn the Floor stage show on the Epic was absolutely great. We were a little disappointed in the other stage show. There were too many fowl words used in this show and other parts of the show were just too explicit.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
We enjoyed sitting around the ship having conversations with the waiters. It is so interesting to see where each one is from and their experiences on their cruises. Our room steward was very good keeping our cabin clean. He also kept us with extra lotion....it was amazing.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
The ship was very clean. The layout of the ship was one of the best for us. It was very easy to get around the ship from front to back. Our cabin was mid-ship....# 9172. I really like the ease of knowing I can get around the ship on my own.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
The cabin was a comfortable size and William kept the cabin very clean. I really loved the layout of the cabin. We were just a little surprised of the size of the room. But we seemed to have no issues getting around the cabin with two adults. I loved the storage space on this ship. We seemed to have plenty of space to put everything without having to leave things in our suitcase and pulling out every time we needed something. Love that!
Ship tip
Relax and enjoy every minute of your cruise. Once on the ship, it goes so fast.
Arrived @ port and got straight on ship. We were so impressed at the embarkation process. No issues at all....one of the best since cruising all these years.
Love this port. We did the Turtle River Falls and Gardens tour. It was absolutely beautiful. Our tour guide, Jordan, was the best. He was very knowledgeable about the gardens and local area. We had a great time at the gardens. Our tour bus guide was pretty cool too. After touring the gardens, Bernie took us to a local bar so we could try one of the local beers. The beer was called Red Stripe and it was very good. We love to try local beers on all the excursions we do, then bring the bottle home and add to our beer bottle collection.
We did the HELL excursion while at this port. We were quite disappointed in this excursion. There is not much to say about this tour. Our driver was not too talkative. We thought we would see more of the Seven Mile Beach. The driver pulled in behind a building, then told us this was the Seven Mile Beach. He didn't even park so we could get out and take pics. So our pics of this beach consisted of looking through the windows and taking pictures. I feel like this was a total waste of money. The turtle farm was interesting.
This is our third cruise to Cozumel and absolutely love it every time. We did dock at a different port this time, but it was all good. We did the Mr. Sanchos day resort and loved it. The resort is so beautiful and so much fun. We had some of the best coconut shrimp and the fajitas were great as well. We would visit this resort again. Sit back, relax and enjoy the day! On our way back to the ship, we got several bottles of vanilla...6 bottles. I have purchased vanilla on prior cruises and had to have some more vanilla to bring home to family and myself. Best vanilla every!
It's good to hear some positive feedback for this ship with reasons that make sense and aren't just for the sake of complaining. Going on the epic soon!
