Review summary

Disembarkation was a nightmare that took nearly three hours. Lining up through the Club in the front of the ship (I can't remember the name) and then having to walk the entire length of the ship to the back, just to get off and walk forward again in the terminal was tiring enough. You then had to, because the queue lines weren't monitored properly, zig zag through many lines of empty queue when someone should have been allowing you to move forward to the first empty lane and get in line at that point. Someone needs to monitor those lines, in every location, much better than they do. By the time I was able to board my shuttle to the airport, I was dripping in sweat as if I'd run a marathon, which made my four hour flight home very uncomfortable. Truly disembarkation was the worst part of my entire vacation.

The queue needs to be monitored more closely so you don't have to zig zag through five or more empty lanes to get to the end of the line. It was a complete waste of time and very tiring to have to exercise that much when you're on a vacation to relax!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The food for the Cirque du Soleil show was the absolute best during the entire cruise. The Garden Buffet was okay - nothing was ever very hot and the carving station meat selections never had any real flavor. The Ultimate Drink Package is definitely the way to go - I don't drink a lot, but it was very convenient and the best choice I made.

Onboard Activities

The Atrium is BEYOND too small to accomodate as many people who would like to take part in the entertainment that occurs there.

Ship tip

Do your homework and watch as many YouTube videos regarding your ship/cruise as you can. You'll have a better lay of the land as far as decks and locations of things/places you want to go.

This was by far the best port. I had a cabana all day and not only was it relaxing, quiet and away from the other 4,000 guests on the island, the food and drinks were some of the best I had all week. The only draw back was there was no transportation to the cabanas, and the cove where mine was located, was farthest from the embarkation point - it was quite a long way to walk, and who wants to have to do that when you're relaxing on vacation? :)

The problem is nobody follows orders.

I don't see the point of a review that says disembarkation was the worst part of the cruise, and then focus is entirely on that and tells us nothing about the part of the cruise that they enjoyed! When I talk about things you enjoyed and then simply mention the disembarkation was a problem and leave it at that?

Our last exit from the Breakaway was a bit chaotic, but since the bulk of 4000 folks all want off at about the same time and most of them feel entitled to ignore instructions, we really didn't expect it to be smooth and line-free. We were neither disappointed nor disillusioned!! 😄 Seems once again it's all about realistic expectations.
