Review summary

This was only my second cruise ever. My first wasn't very enjoyable and since then I have been more of a destination traveler. But, this cruise changed my mind. I definitely would and will consider cruising with Norwegian again.

Food and Dining

Very good.

Maltings Whiskey Bar

5 out of 5

This ended up being my home almost every night. Joseph and the wait staff were outstanding. Ben, the entertainment, was awesome. I loved the nightly themed tribute sets. After a couple of nights, it felt like a neighborhood bar were you knew all of the regulars and the staff. It was one of the highlights of the week. I guess my only complaint would be that it doesn't stay open later. When you are having a great time, 12:30am seems to be too early!

Cabin / Stateroom

Comfortable bed and plenty of room for a solo traveler. Had trouble with the key card reader for the first 24 hours, but it improved after that.

Ship tip

My room was at the end of the run of guest rooms, and was surrounded across and next door by staff rooms. These rooms get lots fo activity all day. If you are trying to get an afternoon nap or maybe sleep in from a late night, it can get very noisy from staff going in and out, loading and unloading carts, etc. It's not the staffs fault, they have jobs to do, but the next time I will request a room more toward the middle of the run of guest rooms.

Beautiful!

Ocho Rios, Jamaica

Spent my birthday climbing Dunn's River Falls and drinking rum on Bamboo beach. Hard to beat that!

George Town, Grand Cayman

5 out of 5
Loved the port. Spent the day mostly strolling ad shopping. Would love to go back to Grand Cayman as a destination trip.

Cozumel, Mexico

3 out of 5
I've been to Mexico several times. The place is nice, not a fan of the barkers every 5 feet.

We really enjoyed Epic on our first cruise. So much to do! 4evaYoung - Any cruise is what you make it. No cruise is 'perfect'. Just do your 'homework' and go in with a positive attitude and you'll have great time! Epic is big, and fun, and has lots to offer.

So glad you had a great time! We cruised in December on the Epic and had a FABULOUS time! 4evayoung, we were nervous, too, but avoided the pitfalls by reading many reviews and planning ahead. We reserved 2 nights for dinner at Taste and Manhattan and reserved the shows as well BEFORE the cruise. And on the nights that we didn’t reserve, we ate at the buffet or just showed up during non peak times to avoid the lines. The Beatles show is a must. We went 3 times!!! Just do your research and you will be fine! Have fun! 🛳

So thankful to hear that! We’re booked on the Epic next year in the Mediterranean but I see so many negative comments about the ship.
