Staff was the rudest people ever, my vegetarian fiancée for religious reasons got served meat twice even though we told them ahead of time, room service took forever, when I called guest services for things they would never get back to me/take hrs, room wasn’t clean upon arrival, her credit card was charged before the end of the ship and then closed multiple times for no reason making purchases very inconvenient, my card was charged to a place I never even went to and then when I asked for a receipt of who signed for the charge, they couldn’t show me one(illegal), items in our room were put in random spots when they were out of sight to begin with(like they went through our stuff), the assistant hotel director is the biggest joke of a man I have ever met. Not only is he rude and condescending but tried to bribe my fiancée with $100. They ruined our engagement week with their low class, rude, eye rolling attitude. I will never do business with this cruise line again and I even talked to multiple people on board that are more experienced than me with cruises and they also were as easily disgusted. STAY AWAY FROM EPIC!

Ship experiences
Food and Dining
1 out of 5
The dining rooms were always crowded. Was told you had to make reservations and when I would call, they would say you don’t need a reservation. When I would go to eat, there would be hr+ wait. My gf is a vegetarian because of religious reasons and we told them upon arrival and got served chicken twice..
Onboard Activities
1 out of 5
Only went to one show. It was overcrowded and couldn’t see because of the support poles blocking the stage.

Service and Staff

Rudest group of individuals I have ever met from guest services all the way up to assistant hotel manager.. they argue back and roll their eyes like you are an inconvenience to them. They also illegally charged my onboard card and couldn’t come up with a receipt to where the purchase came from, shady.
Ship Quality

Had to walk through the casino that isn’t smoke free friendly just to get to certain parts of the ship so I constantly smelt like cigarette smoke, disgusting.
Cabin / Stateroom

Cabin was alright, can’t expect much from an inside cabin. However, our mini fridge had things missing upon arrival and the room hadn’t been clean since the thank you letter from the last guest was still on the counter. Also found trash tags from those guests on the floor.
Ship tip
Do not waste your money. I proposed to my gf of 5 years and planned this trip accordingly and these people literally ruined the whole experience. If I could give 0 stars I would.
Our favorite of the trip. Went to mystic mountain and did the bobsled/zipline. The people were more than welcoming. Staff helped me capture my moment of proposal and they were more than excited for us.
Since it’s owned by Norwegian, I didn’t expect much. We signed up for parasailing at 12:15 and it got canceled. So we did the party boat/snorkel. The people were funny and it was a fun time.
With that much wrong, I doubt cruising is for you. I just returned from EPIC. I am not a smoker and don’t care for the need to walk through the casino either; however, I never ended up smelling like cigarette smoke, and there are alternate routes if you really don’t want to walk through the smoking. Much of the complaints seem like wild exaggerations. Like someone else commented, it is what you make it. Next time stay home.
Your vacation is what you make it. I understand some situations can be upsetting if you allow every little thing upset you its a downward spiral. I've read some terrible reviews from the same cruise and date I sailed and I wonder, was this the same ship I was on? Enjoy yourself, relax, and certainly quit complaining and the cruise goes so much better! 😊
Im not worried, everyone has their opinion, we sail out on epic in November, we sailed the escape last September and was beyond impressed, Norweigan is a great cruise line
