Review summary

Overall NCL does a good job. I don't know if it was the amount of people onboard or just a tired staff but I found the overall restaurant and bar staff to be pretty "grumpy" which is very uncommon for NCL. We have cruised with NCL over 25 cruises and this cruise seemed as if the standards had been lowered

The Epic is a big ship- 4000+ passengers. It is quite the wait to get on. We did okay because we have Platnium Plus status but I would gather that first time cruisers were in line for a hour or more

We had the Beverage and Dining package. We made our dining reservations prior to our cruise. On 2/1/18 of the cruise my son had dining reservations for 9pm at Moderno. He and his new wife dressed for the occasion and headed to the restaurant. Once there , they were told that they did not have a reservation. In fact the lady at the desk was pretty rude about it. My son explained to her that the reservation had been made online. She said "well I don't have it!" My son said he felt that the staff thought he was lying to them. After a little more hassle and making my sons wife cry they final put them at a back table in the restaurant that was basically empty to begin with. It turned out to be quite a horrible experience for them. It was too bad that we had to end our cruise as a family on such a sour note.
