Great crossing

Sail Date: April 19, 2015

Room Type: Balcony

WE especially enjoyed the great attitude of the staff and the wonderful entertainment.  The crossing went by in a flash.  The food was terrific, too.  Lots of variety and always available.  A good value all the way around.  We cruised around Italy on a Royal Caribbean ship after we got to Europe and our experience there confirmed our evaluation of the Epic's strengths.  Epic did suffer from design flaws both in cabin design and in common spaces which are not configured well for most entertainment uses.  Some of the seats were so uncomfortable we didn't stay to enjoy our favorite band!  Still, it was a wonderful crossing.

Ship Quality
In the cabin, it felt like the toilet was in the statreroom. The common spaces didn't accommodate the attendees and many seate were behind pools or facing away from the stage.
Food and Dining
Loved the food. Lots of variety and good quality.
Service and Staff
Teriffic attitude that felt genui9ne.
Entertainment
We especially enjoyed Nadine, the Hypnosis Queen.
Children's Programs N/A
Onboard Activities
Plenty to do. I expected to get some reading done but no time!
Destinations and Excursions
Madiera was a happy surprise.
Cabin / Stateroom
Loved the in-room coffee service. Hated the shower and toilet that didn't feel private.
Miami, Florida
It used to be home. I love it, of course.
Funchal, Madeira
Loved it. The toboggan ride was a hoot!
Barcelona, Spain
Lived there for 9 months 45 years ago. It was wonderful to experience it again.

Tip

My prior crossings were from New York so I took warm clothes . Leaving from Miami, we took a southern route, The weather was perfect! and it never got cold.
