Q: is there a bar or good venue open where maybe about 20 people can meet as we sail out?

A: you could always grab your drinks and go to the sundeck on deck 18. Best views on the ship but no bar unless you have purchased access to posh or haven

A: On deck (which will be crowded) either pool bar or bars at rear in H2O spice area will be open. Or if you are ok with not seeing port as you sail, then oSheehans on deck 6 or bar deck 7 (I believe, although might also be 6) will be open and should b... e less crowded. Just was on Epic last week.See More

Q: Looking for inside tips for what to pack outside of suggested items for our Mediterranean Cruise in June. Also is there a formal dining night on this ship?

A: No formal dining night. a lot of people do get dress up and a lot do not. you would not be out of place if you did fancy dress. I would suggest to pack a good selfie stick. So many great photo opportunities in the Mediterranean and you want to get as... much in the picture as possible :) if your cruise goes to Messina make sure to check out the Astronomical clock at Messina Cathedral in Piazza Del Duomo. Be there just before noon to see the full show :)See More

A: No formal dining but you can be formal anytime you want. Some of the specialty dining requires long pants & collar shirts. We liked Manhattan as our go to complementary…. But O’Sheehans was great too. Be sure to get reservations for restaurants as... soon as you can to make sure you get times you want. The Mediterranean cruise is port focus cruise…. Very exhausting and very awesome. You will have great time… we did! Our phone data coverage was not very good in Europe so we got lost a lot… haha. We stayed in Rome a few days prior.See More

A: Norwegian ships never have any mandatory formal dining nights, that's why they are called freestyle cruising.

Q: Embarking in San Juan… any tips (e.g. best times)? Some reviews say it’s fine, others say a nightmare. Large family group, ages from 2 to late 80s. Looks like a Royal Caribbean ship will be embarking same day.

A: Just sailed on the epic out of PR, it was fast and easy ! Got there for 11:00am, on the ship by 11:40 and had our cabin at around 2:00 !!! Just enough time to grab lunch and a first drink 🍹

A: Last time we sailed from San Juan was March 2019 and sailing again from there in 3 weeks. Last time, boarding process struck me as the easiest of any port we have sailed from. Every bad experience I have read about was during the period when Covid... resting was required. I’m expecting it to be similar to the 2019 experience. I will keep you posted. Btw, it’s only 2 of us, so not a large group.See More

A: we got on quick enough but had to wait till 2 to get in our cabin.
Answered by junkyarddog on March 4, 2023
A: you will be fine! RCC & NCL dock at different locations. Just show up at your boarding time, even when testing was being done we did not have a problem with boarding in San Juan. Boarding usually starts around 11, so make your time after that and... you won't have to sit around and wait.See More

Q: Trying to find out if many people use the gym 😬 or if I should just pack some bands for my room?
Thumbs Up

A: Every time I’ve been to a ship gym I’ve always found space to do my exercises. Be flexible as if it’s busy you need to be able to adjust your routine. I usually avoid the peak times like first thing in the morning. That’s the worst time to go.
Answered by InnocentDaz on February 24, 2023
A: yes, alot of people use the gym! There is a walking track on most every ship, so that is nice but don't expect to show up at the gym and get on any machine without a wait!

A: Go see Burn the floor show you'll love it just as much...for a Broadway performance you'll have to come to Nyc!

A: They pulled that show. A friend of mine was in it, he got a notice that the show would no longer be on the Epic. I have noticed that Burn The Floor isn’t available to make reservations. Im not to far out for booking either

Q: Does anybody knows if they do the Love and Marriage show?? Is a classic and my family and I look forward to it on every cruise we do.

A: When I last sailed on Epic, Sept 2021, the game show was not in the schedule. That being said it was a cruise during covid so I guess not all activities where back or being played due to a lack of guests onboard ships. It was played the time I was on... it before, a few years back. On a recent sailing with Norwegian Star the game was scheduled and played. So there’s a good chance it’ll be on the schedule, depending on the length of your cruise.See More

Q: Can anyone tell me if you need to purchase an internet package in order to use the Norwegian app while on board the ship

A: The answer is actually, No! You don't need the internet package to use the app for all things onboard, schedules, menues, shows and such. You will however not be able to use the internet without the package.
Answered by crusin4gramma on November 13, 2022
A: Cruisin4gramma is right - you can use the app without internet - I seem to remember you can use for all mentioned plus messaging too - if you need to message each other/other cabins while on board it’s quite handy to have that without the need to buy... internet for everyone.See More
